I haven't seen anyone bring him up. I think he's at least worthy of discussion.
He's 32 and still makes tough catches and is as clutch as they come. He's also played in 2 superbowls. The Ravens apparently will be forced to release him due to cap issues and Flacco's looming mega-contract. I think he could fill in here for a couple seasons as our #2. I know most will bring up his age, but I think he's got at least a couple years left.

Joe Flacco should take half of what he gets from this mega-contract and give it to Boldin for bailing him out over and over.
Boldin isn't a burner, so I think his age is less of a factor. He's a big, physical receiver that can go up in traffic and win the ball. I'm not anti Dalton at all, but in all honesty, with the way Dalton throws the deep ball, Boldin would be more valuable to us than a guy like Mike Wallace. There's no doubt he'd make this team better, so I'm all for it. |

If you don't have faith in Sanu and MLJ just yet, Boldin would be the perfect "rental receiver" for the Bengals. He's probably not getting a long term contract from anyone, so give him a fair, maybe front loaded, two year contract that will allow Sanu and MLJ to learn and grow while having a guy who can still play at a pretty high level. Yeah, I'd definitely be on board a Green/Boldin pairing, the upside far outweighs the down.

If the price is right, but I'd expect he'll want more than we'd be willing to offer after XLVII.

They're over the cap and need to sign Joe Flacco to a mega deal. They've also said they want Ed Reed back, so he needs a new contract as well. Boldin is 32 years old and is due more than 5 million this season.

I advocated that Cincy bring him here 4-5 years ago when he was leaving Arizona.
Cincy had 2 really good wr's on the team already with Ocho and TJ but both were already showing signs of discontent. I got flamed for it. He is the perfect fit for a #2 wr and can be a #1 in limited service. He is getting older but he is fairly consistant and just proved that he still has some tread left on the tires. It wouldn't bother me one bit to see him in stripes.

I really wanted him in 2010 when he was a FA. I'd take him on a short term/front loaded deal.

Dang give him a 1-2 year deal worth 5 mil or more and take him for what he is....a GREAT WR we can use until we strike gold on drafting his replacement

If folks wanna discuss A.Bradshaw (pertaining to another thread) so be it. This is a football message board, you know a place where people banter about football and such. I really like Sanu and I think he will continue to get better next season BUT it is asinine to compare A.Boldin (a super bowl champion and player who was arguably this past SB's MVP/co mvp) to Sanu. Could Sanu be in his class eventually? Sure, but is he right now? Not even close!

Too bad the much younger and faster version of him isn't nearly as good.

Who knows how good Sanu will be? If he ever becomes as good as Boldin, we'll all be ecstatic. I don't know his ceiling but I like his game. To me, he's a definite keeper. It's a shame it took so long to give him his shot. I don't see much about Boldin to even complain about. He exploded into the NFL and has been excellent ever since.

If Sanu were truly a better version of Anquan Boldin, we wouldn't need another WR.

I just think it's a stretch to compare a guy with 16 career catches to a border-line HOF'er. Boldin has more yards in Superbowls than Sanu has in his career.

Hard to tell what will happen with Boldin. I am guessing the Ravens will release him or Jacoby Jones, as they will be well over the cap if Flacco gets a new big deal done or if he is franchised. Question with Boldin is will he want to play there under a new cheaper deal, or go elsewhere for one last nice contract for a couple or so years, cause at 33 in October his age will start catching up sooner than later.
But would I take him here for a 2 year deal perhaps (incentive laden), absolutely. I'll take a few veteran receivers out there that would make our WR corps better in depth overall. And if Jacoby Jones gets released instead, I hope we would be the first ones calling him, as he would instantly replace Tate at KR and at WR, and would be our PR as well.

I would love the signing. Boldin could give some tips and become a mentor for Sanu since there a similar type of WR. Meanwhile he would be making clutch catches to continue drives for our offense. Our 3rd down conversion rate would improve that's for sure.
