It is easy to say that when your team had none till 1974. So the Hall of Fame inductions, awards and NFL records don't mean a thing prior to 1966??? ![]()

And thats why its easy!!! ... Six baby!
Why would it be difficult? Besides, most Steeler fans weren't alive during the 30's - 60's to root for those Steelers teams, while bengal fans are living the years of bungle ineptitude. Not true...they mean something. |

Is anyone whining that you're proud about titles back in the day? Couldn't care less if that makes you proud. To each his own...you're trying make an argument where there is none. You mean you wouldn't brag if the bengals were winners of 6 Super Bowls?...and if you wouldn't brag, the media would. And ignore NFL championships.

I NEVER brag to my Redsox friends how many titles we have compared to them. When we talk smack we talk about current teams. Likewise, I never hear Celtic fans talk about how many titles they have compared to the Heat. Steeler fans bragging about their paultry 6 Championships is a case of insecurity about their current team. Again, I never hear about Montreal fans brag about their titles or UCLA about their College basketball titles. Steeler fans brag about their titles when everyone knows that Titletown is Green bay and they got their name NOT by winning 4 superbowl titles. They got their name by winning 13 Titles!!!!!!!!

![]() ![]() Too much useless info! This is the second time you threw out a bunch of stuff thats not in dispute...of course all championships count. Who is disputing that again? Your butthurt is that many don't view NFL championships as carrying the same weight as Super Bowls, and you act as though Steeler fans are the only ones that feel that way. |

Nope, not all. The other pathetical franchises that never won a NFL Championship aka San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys also talk solely of Superbowl Championships because they NEVER won a Championship before the Superbowl. I guarantee you, if those teams as well as the Steelers won at least one NFL Championship then they would include that Championship as well as their Superbowl wins. The only reason why NFL Championshipdare not talked about more is because the AFL teams would feel butthurt because all their NFL Championships come strictly via the Superbowl.

![]() You say "franchises" never talk about NFL championships, thats ludicrous...you mean fans of those franchises right?Of course if the Steelers won an NFL title the fans would include it...thats because they won Super Bowls too! Packers include theirs, probably Giants too. Ever hear of Detroit fans boasting of their NFL championships? Nope, because they have no Super Bowls to go with it, so it becomes pointless and lame and they know it. You're still missing the point however, but I think we're making progress nevertheless. Now that you understand that it's also fans of other Super Bowl winners and not just Steeler fans that have this attitude toward NFL championships...on to step 2: : Even fans of teams with zero Super Bowl rings feel the same way toward NFL Championships...unless they're older than 60! You think Jax fans give a hoot about the browns 4 AAFC Championships in a 6 team league? Go on their website and use that as smack against their 0 SB's... they will bow in homage to you ![]() Step 3: Borrowing the economy phrase...Its the media stupid! The coverage is practically nil...even come Super Bowl time. Minimizing NFL championships goes beyond fans of Super Bowl winners... it is the way of the average NFL fan, the print and electronic media.Your beef should be why no one cares, even though championships count. It's the way of the world and you're fighting an uphill battle. You must have it exceptionally rough come Super Bowl time... your bengals once again aren't in it, and NFL championship talk is ignored by the fans and media...especially because two of your other favorite teams...the Pack and the Clowns own so many of those things ![]() |

It's like a reporter asking Flacco about his first championship and Flacco reminding everyone that his first championship came when he was 8 years old in little league. No one says his little league championship didn't happen or didn't count. It's just that no one cares. Yet bengal fans still display the butthurt.

I see I have to go gentle with you my friend. Detroit, Philadelphia, etc fans can't say much because it has been such a long time. The same as KC Chiefs and Jet fans. I live in NY and no one cares about their SB win. Years ago when I started watching football in the 70's, people still chirped about the 69 Mets and Jets. Now nada. People care about recent championships and that is understandable. If Miaim had not gone undefeated nobody would care about their championships either. The last 20 years the Steelers have been a great team, their is no denying that. But if you are going to bring those old relic trophys of the 70's, then why stop there? Which is my point. If you are going to talk about titles in the collective sense, NFL teams had championships, rings and parades in the 50's also. The Detroit fan back then knew that no other team on the planet was better then theirs when they won their championship. 50 years from now, a Ravens fan will remember no other team was better then his team this year. Similarly, fans of teams that won in the past knew for that year no other team was better then theirs. Many have died so they can't dispute you when you talk nonsense. A boxer of today is better trained and more fit today then of yesteryear. But nobody discounts champions like Rocky Marciano.Today's champion would kill Rocky in the ring. Same with the Olympics and almost every sport. We have different rules and athletes are far superior now then before. But those titles from every sport count, whether it be the 1928 Yankees and today's San Francisco Giants to the 1960's Celtics and the 2012 Miami Heat. They all count!!!!!! The "first" SB game was not even sold out!! Bengal games[some ] are sold out compared to that first SB game. The Packers were more happy beating the Dallas in the conference title game then beating KC.Time has made many folks forget about the NFL titles, but mark my words if Green Bay wins another title their banner will be 14 titles. ![]() ![]()
