Default Fallout 4

Apparently, Fallout 4 is being planned. The guy that voiced Three Dog in Fallout 3 has signed on to resurrect his character and was given permission from Bethesda to tweet that info. They've also been busy with the Patents and Copyright office licensing things that seem to be related to a new Fallout environment.

Obviously, this sounds like its still a long way off, but it's exciting nonetheless. Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games ever. I hope they get back to a "vault dweller" storyline. New Vegas was fun, but it didn't feel very "falloutish" to me.

Awesome news! And apparently it's for the next gen consoles....

http://www.examiner.com/article/ps4-...-4-says-report

Time to start saving some extra cash for those new consoles.

Hopefully those Next Gen consoles dont follow the rumors of constant internet connection zero backwards captability and no used game sales.

And hopefully they dont do boston. I want a mid west city to see a new order of the BoS. Im sure they will let Ensemble do another fallout as well which should take place in Californa.

The only cool thing that can come of keeping the game on the east coast is possibly seeing results of your deeds in Fallout 3.

Agree about the next gen consoles. A lot of fans are not going to be happy about this (actually, I don't think ANY fans are). And people keep saying they'll wait to buy the system when it's price goes down, but it'll go down 50 in a year and that's probably it.

Now on Fallout, love that game. Great atmosphere and story line. Loved everything about it

Cant Argue I've loved fallout since the first game... and Fallout 3 was a great treat for gamers. It didnt follow traditional fallout play style like NewVegas tried to but it was still great fun. And fallout 4 will be a direct sequal to it.

Speaking of next gen consoles, Sony has some big play station related announcement to be made on February 20. Most seem to think it'll be the announcement of the PS4 to be released later this year.

I just don't play that many console games, so the though of shelling out that much $$$ for a new system *****, but I won't fool myself and say I won't buy it. If it means I get to play Fallout 4 and Dragon Age 3, I'll pay pretty much anything they're asking.

From what I've read, Xbox is probably waiting for E3 to announce their next gen consoles, and it will come out this holiday season. I've also read recently that the PS4 probably won't be out this year. But who knows....maybe they're just better at keeping stuff under wraps than Microsoft...this announcement could be it.

Anyone see the IllumiRoom tech. for the new Xbox's?

Video in link....

http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/14...killer-feature

Seems kind of gimmicky, but it may have some cool applications...

I think its awesome It extends your TV out unto your living room giving your perf vision a tease.. but over all should make for more immersive game play. Microsoft is waiting for E3 this year. And is a big reason theres not many games set to release the later half of this year for the 360.

The original source of the Boston rumors revealed that he was just making stuff up, so that's a relief....

I think I'm just trying to temper my expectations for the IllumiRoom tech., since I was massively disappointed by the Kinect after being so excited at the concept of it back when it was only known as Project Natal. If it wasn't for that, I'd probably be really excited about it.

Kinect has its uses i love the work out programs for it... and what they have been able to do (turning a projector screen into a touch screen etc) by reverse engerineering it should help the next version of the kenict be better.

The biggest problem with the kinect like the wii is getting Developers to use it. so far its mainly voice commands in the bigger titles. I expect that might change if motion gaming takes off

As for Fallout 4... The original rumor I heard was that it was in San Francisco. One of the locations i believe from fallout 2.

Yea, I enjoyed the idea of being a Vault Dweller better, but I liked how New Vegas explored the politics of the Fallout world. It followed the NCR and Legion storyline originally intended in the first Fallout 3 from over a decade ago.

I really liked the setting for Fallout 3 since I am from that area, but I think the next one needs to go somewhere more central to the storyline.

I don't care about Boston, but I did want to see the Commonwealth and it's Institute referred to in 3. Before New Vegas, I thought it would have been cool if they did the fourth game as a 'science gone crazy' type place (pretty much like Old World Blues for Vegas, which was my favorite part of either of the two modern games), with the Institute as the civilized center of a city more like the Pitt.

I would like to see them explore some other region of the country like the midwest chicago maybe. any additional areas could be travelled to by boat if need be.

That could be cool. As long as they don't make it gangsters.

And they could always put in a car system like in FO2, where you can travel long distances. That way it wouldn't be unrealistic to go from Chicago to St Louis to Wichita.

I must've been a porn star like 100 times.

But, yeah, that was kind of my thinking in why I said no Chicago gangsters they did it in New Reno and it was cool. Doing it 30 years later in a sequel might make it not as gooder.

I think they had the Brotherhood of Steel game take place in Chicago. Might be a location for them to re-explore.

Then you don't know Fallout. Old Fallout. Fallout 3 was Edler Scrolls: Wasteland. Fallout NV was FALLOUT. There are 5+ people at Obsidian who were on the original Fallout 1 & 2 development teams. They know Fallout, which is why NV was far better IMO.

I hope Obsidian is doing FO 4, I'll be disappointed otherwise.

Agreed.

There were somethings I didn't like about NV, but it was much more in line with FO1&2 than FO3. Really FO3 just used the concept of a vault as the starting point, tossed in some Super Mutants and a few references of the old stuff. But it didn't have the same feel or the same sense of humor.

I loved head shotting Caesar. I've never played against the NCR, because I just far too much enjoy sneaking into his tent and blowing his head off.

Well in respect to 1 and 2 which i love 3 also started you as a vault dweller like the first 2 games produced by Black Isle studios.

3 in and of itself was a great game. But really was too linear compared to the orginial 2. (and they extended the ending i understand but that is and always has been the way fallout games end... Here is the choices youe made and the effects of said choices...)

Fallout NV which had black isle members on it for sure. Was more in the line with Fallout 1&2 as far as open story is concerned with at least 3 or 4 distinct Paths to the end of the game.

NCR, Legion, Mr House, or That robot guy.

Also included the Brotherhood of steel but kept them as an optional fraction. where in 3 they are a huge part of the main story line.

Dont get me wrong i am a huge Brotherhood of steel fan... Even have a tattoo of their symbol. Which probly why i love 3.

4 Could be made by either team and still be good. Chances are Bethesda has some one else develop it as they are busy with ESO and Evil within. (if we do get a fallout 4 at all)

Mine is Motorrunner down in the vault. It's bee's knees to take some drugs and get all the way in, head shot him and then fight back out of the vault.

I'm sure that we will eventually get a 4. FO3 and FO NV were too popular for us to not get a 4 eventually. It's just good business to tap into.
