How much would you pay for a next gen console when they come out?

The original price tag on the PS3 was $600. You'd have to think that was the absolute floor for pricing on the new units. What would you pay to get your hands on one of the units when they're first released?

im willing to bet the Xbox720 and PS4 will be in the 600-750 dollar range. I hear that they are completly different than what is currently out there.

but i also heard that even though Sony is making a PS4, that they havent even tapped all of the PS3's potential.

I took his statement to mean that the PS3 has not come close to its overall earning potential. Technologically, I think it's probably maxed out.

Well the standard Console price over the generations on first release has been 300$... Microsoft took losses to make that happen with the Xbox. And Xbox 360 at least had a bare bone package @ that price. (but with harddrive/ controller it was $400)

That being said anything over $400 is probly a wait for me.

If the rumors are true the price im willing to pay will be ZERO dollars.

Definately and without an Offical mircosoft announcement im not willing to bet anything on the new Xbox. but Im sure there will be tiered packages Like Hard Drive Size and With or Without a Kinect 2.0 etc.

and with the way they charge for Conponent cables and cross over cables theres no way anyone should be willing to sell out over 800 dollars. No way man.

sub $500. PS3 learned that lesson last gen cycle when their $600+ unit had sluggish sales and it took slashing to really pick things up.

Like it or not, the gamer market has dictated that consoles can't be too high.

Microsoft will take a loss on the consoles because they know that the cheaper the price for the console, the more they will sell and will be able to make up that loss on the games that they sell. Microsoft will most likely sell their next console at the same price as the Xbox 360 which is $299.99.

As for the next Playstation, who knows since Sony tries to gouge their customers for every cent they can. I would guess the next Playstation will cost $899.99 and Playstation fanboi's will buy them up because well, they are fanboi's.

Depends on the rumors. I will not be happy if the playback rumors are facts. So that means I would definitely wait a while to not only save up, but for it to drop in price. However, I think it will drop $50 in a whole year, and that will be it for awhile.

I will definitely hold off on bying one for along time. Hell, I have a 360 but i only play one or 2 games on it so what would be the point in buying a PS4 or Xbox 720 when im only gonna play a title or 2?

I will wait till some crackhead buys one and needs crack money and i will give him 50 bucks for it.

Btw, I'm pretty happy with the ps3 as it has Netflix and bluray which is what I use it for mostly these days, when I do,

If I ever bought a ps4 I wouldn't want to pay much more than $500 for it, unless it was unfugginbelievably awesome, then yeah I might.

I've had an NES, Genisis, N64, Gamecube, PS, PS 2, Xbox and Xbox 360. I've still got a couple of those systems and every once in a while I'll break it out. Or play the original fallout or starcraft on the comp. But, with kids, work and everything else, I've got maybe an hour a day to play.

I'm not spending $500-$800 on something I might get two or three hours of use out of in week. That's why I stopped dating.
