I wouldn't be surprised in the least in Brian Leonard is not on our roster next year.

Yeah there is no way he makes the squad.

Yes, but not with a whole lot of success...he got carries I felt Cedric should have got, who I would sign since he's a FA this year as well. Plus he's clearly our leader on special teams.

If we draft a RB in the first couple rounds he's a goner. He was no impact at all last season.

Maybe he's thinking of Brandon Jacobs. He was big like Bettis.

Why didn't we even look at this guy?
I mean, I know the answer ($$$), but I don't want to see him healthy and in a Steeler uniform.

Because we have his style of runner in BJGE.

Because he's often injured, and fumbles..

Eh, they can have him. I'm personally glad we didn't go after him. He doesn't wow me, and I think we need a "wow" running back to complement BJGE.

His pass catching would be awesome in a WC offense.

Well he did get 1000 yards so that is Mr. Blackburn's definition of a marquee free agent. I'd be interested to see what he signs for. He is a similar style to Lawfirm, but he averages 4.6yds a carry for his carrer. He will play about 14 games and fumble about 2 and a half times a year. They're going to draft a RB with some kind of speed anyway, but it never hurts to have more horses in the stable if the price is right.

That is, if we ran a WCO that used the backs as receivers... ![]()

What?
One has averaged 4.5 or more a carry in 5 out of his 6 seasons. And that one has caught 131 balls over the last 3 seasons. That one was once a part of a combo called "Thunder and Lightening" Another one has never averaged 4.5 a carry in any season, and has averaged under 4.0 a carry 3 out of his 5 years. That one only has 48 catches in 5 full seasons. (10 less than what the other had in 2010 alone.) Can you guess which player is which? I'll give you a hint: BGE would never be called "Lightening" in any backfield duo. Bradshaw is a guy who's pretty good in the pass game, and has run for healthy average per carry. BGE offers little in the pass game, and is more of prodding runner, who doesn't fumble, and is good in short yardage. This is how PFF describes his elusiveness: According to PFF, Green-Ellis is near the bottom of the barrel when it comes to elusiveness in the running game. They rank him at No. 50, right after Mikel Leshoure and right ahead of Shonn Greene. The group of players that Green-Ellis is grouped in with is considered "The Ugly End." I can see not wanting Bradshaw due to injury concerns, or wanting someone else, be it in the draft or another FA. But I don't understand not wanting him because he's just like BGE. They're totally different players. If anything Bradshaw would compliment BGE, and vice versa.

Bingo.
They released a guy who couldnt stay healthy or hang on to the ball. They are gonna sign a guy who cant stay healthy or hang on to the ball. Lateral move at best for them.

Why would the Steelers want this bum?
According to the MB experts, this guy is terrible. That 4.6 career ypc average is really misleading.

He's only had one bad season as far as fumbling goes (7 in 2010), but he also had 1235 yards and 47 catches that year.

Personally I was indifferent to getting a RB in free agency though I would have liked to see Bush here. That said, I just hope/pray they don't ignore RB in the draft like last year, unless they miraculously draft this years Alfred Morris in the 6th round or so.

For the record, I don't really want him, I'm just tired of people downing every single FA that gets brought up. Bradshaw has been a solid player, and the Steelers will be better off with him.
