I agree, I think Bush would fit very nicely into our offense and would love to see him and BJGE in the same backfield at times.

Both players will set their expectations very high financially, but not many teams have serious money to spend. The market will come to Cincy and they'll throw their names in. Hopefully it is after they get long term deals done with Smith and MJ, and of coarse Geno. They're both high speed and ego players, but this team finally has an environment that won't let a platoon RB or #2 WR kill their team. Its important to front load as much as possible so there is no question AJ will get a crazy extension.

Bengals will sign Michael Boley as their big free agent prize. Just my prediction.

Bush is 28 with a lot tread on the tires. He was never utilized that much throughout his career. He has big play ability and would be an excellent relief valve for Dalton in passing situations. I would be all for the Bush signing but we still should draft a back high as an heir apparent to BJGE( i.e. Eddie Lacy)

I pray we don't sign Wallace because Sanu was coming along pre-injury and Jones needs room to keep developing.
Rather draft a guy over signing Bush but he might be a nice change of pace.

Torn between Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush as a free agent RB pick up. If I had to go with one it would be Bush on the account of his pass catching abilities. Thomas has stone hands and it would be like throwing to Dan Coats all over again.
Wallace would demand way too much than what he's actually worth. |

Nah not worth it let Sanu and Jones develope. We need help on the Oline and a play making RB more.

Good question. He's pretty much always inherited guys. But then you wonder how much input he'll have on the matter.

I agree, If we signed both these guys and got our own then we win in FA. Then we draft another Back to add to the stable. Wallace and Bush would really open the field up. I do not think there will be much of a market for Bush, so we may get him cheaper than expected, And Wallace may have soured some with his actions last season. I would love to sign him to let him loose on his former crew. I would say that Arians would want Wallace, but I cant see the Cardinals of all teams signing a big name WR after all the top picks they have

To add:
the real question what is the Market for Bush and Wallace? Who needs what and who is a realistic buyer for these guys?

I do not want either. I'd be content with RB with fresh legs through the draft and
a WR with less issues and money concerns. |

It'd certainly be a splash in FA. I'd be happy with it I suppose.

If it ever happened, and that's a big if, and it could be fit under the cap while still keeping the key guys, it sure would open up some possibilities for the offense.

I think it is reasonable for Intern Marv to look at the signhings but the issue with the article, and most "lets sign this guy" posts is roster and cap implications. Lets talk about Wallace.
We give Wallace a roster spot and we have to cut Whalen or Tate. Lets say for conversation sake it is Tate who is gone. With that we need a full time returner so naturally we go A. Jones. M. Jones is in his second year and we are "thinking" Sanu will show the same promise he did last year after a season ending injury. with that we have brought on board a fast down field threat to complement a fast, great route running AJ green. Both can get down field. We know that. So having said that we have to look at the O line which over the last 4 years with playoff appearances in 3 is the big issue. Do we bring on a 2 play a game guy that will cost more money combined than the two we have on rookie contracts to "maybe" get better? Chew on that for a while.........

Even though this is Cincinnati, I think pigs have better chance of flying!MB will use that money to keep his own...

Not gonna happen with either one never mind both of them. I don't see us doing anything earth shattering this off season. Its not the style of this franchise and I don't think they're about to begin with. Extra cap space money will be spent on resigning current players worth keeping.

I'd be stoked if we signed either of those guys, let alone both.
Not happenin though.

I for one would welcome both of them to the team. I'm tired of this team never taking chances. I hate that everyone thinks we should "play it safe" because what happened with the TOcho show a few years ago. Every guy that has even the least bit of proven talent isn't gonna destroy the ole so called chemistry that has giving us such great playoff success the past few years (sarcasm). I for one want to see want to see this team make some progress. And for those of you who say we have Sanu and Marvin Jones, good make them fight for that #2 spot. Not to mention I'd love to have Wide Receiver core that would put fear in opposing defenses like we did in 2005. not to mention Reggie Bush who could double as a RB and a WR when we needed him to.

Sanu can play outside and in the slot.. but more than likely he will be our own version of Hines Ward, where as Jones will be more the outside guy. If Sanu comes back and starts where he left off then I could realistically see him being our Anquan Boldin to Larry Fitzgerald...with A.J. playing the part of Fitz lol. Regardless, Sanu and Marvin Jones will see a significant amount of playing time whether or not a big name FA receiver comes in here. Those two are studs (even though Sanu is coming along quicker then Jones) and I can see MLJ steppin up big time next season now that he has his first full NFL season under his belt. |
