Im sure you've all heard or read about it by now, but still its pretty classless. Kinda wish it would have to come to something like that, then Joe would have probably found himself a free agent this coming season and banned from the city of Baltimore.

It's really hard to tell if he was giving any sly humor there, when his back was turned it seemed like he smiled a little bit while saying it.

I read it last night and thinking about it this morning, I give him the benefit of the doubt because he was about to win the superbowl - who knows the things that go through a man's mind at that time. You will revert back to being a child, it's the thing kids dream about.

They would have awarded SF a TD anyway, if you read the rule, it's up to the referee's discretion - and that would have definitely been a "superbowl highlight" for years to come.

If you notice on the safety before that, EVERY baltimore player on the offensive line was holding/tackling the defensive players - because a hold would have resulted in a safety anyway.

So the referees didn't call it! Imagine that, the other team has to fight through holds and tackles just to try and force them to get a safety quicker.

I personally think the rules should be changed within 20-30 seconds of a half where a penalty by the defending team like that should cause the clock to reset to its original spot, because teams will do this to kill time near the end of a half when a team has the ball on the one yard line and there are about 10-15 seconds left. It kills clock and the opposing team isn't going to get moving any time soon

Refs discretion, but you would have to think that the ref would almost be obligated to award 6 in that scenario. If you are the ref how can you justify not awarding a touchdown to SF for that play? From everything I have read on Joe's demeanor on the sideline was that he was serious, but who really knows for sure aside from Flacco himself. If it would have came to that it would have been the craziest ending of a Superbowl for a long time.

I have no problem with Flacco (with or without that quote). he came up big time in the post season. He was not a superbowl QB in the regular season.

He takes chances and trusts his receivers on deep balls. He does have the midget ray in the backfield which helps. I hope Dalton takes some cues from Flacco, and gruden starts working in rollouts for Dalton.

But the Ravens will not repeat, and the Bengals will beat you twice next year. I will let you decide if that's twice in the regular season or once in the playoffs, xD.

Is it possible the ravens have 4 HOFers on their team (or more?). Ed Reed, Ray lewis, ray rice, and joe flacco?

Thanks for showing the Bengals that a team in their own division with the same record won the superbowl. Marvin lewis is only good when he has something to motivate his players.

I wouldn't go quite THAT far.

He had a decent, if inconsistent, regular season and a great playoff run.

To win in the NFL you need to be good and have a few things go your way. a 4th and 29 (that Rice got 28 on) saved the regular season. The "Flacco Fluke" saved the playoff game in Denver. So lets not put him with the all time greats either yet.

Flacco had a GREAT playoff run. One of the best statiscal except his completion percentage (I could be wrong so feel free to check me if I am)

He made all the right throws and in the superbowl he played great.


However he doesn't really 'tear' up the Steelers. He has some decent games but if anything from my memory he has been pretty average to below average against the Steelers..with the exception of 1 or 2 games in his career. Just like Ben never really 'owns' the Ravens. Except that MNF game where he threw 5 TDs.
