He just might be what they need at QB. Don't know how much he's played though.

I would think with their new HC, they might sniff around Gradkowski...

However Mike Brown might a play for him.
He wanted him over Dalton. |

Browns finally get a decent QB, and they throw it away after 1 year.
Oh well, I don't think Lombardi is a good GM anyway. Made some good coaching moves, but with players? I think Lomardi is gonna try to take every Patriots player he can. Just a hunch.

Colt McCoy's the best QB on that roster IMO.

Re: Browns unlikely to acquire QB Ryan Mallet from Patriots
If I didn't have a QB (Arizona, Cleveland, Oakland, Jacksonville, New York Jets, and Buffalo) I would definitely spend a 3rd round pick on him although since that's his original round I expect they'd ask for a 2nd in which case I'd seriously contemplate it since several of those guys will wait and target guys at the top of the 2nd.
Would you rather trade up and secure a Matt Barkley for a second and other picks or spend that single 2nd on a strong armed Brady protege? I like him personally so pending options I'd probably do it. I'd wait til the draft if I felt I could and then if it doesn't fall my way pull the trigger. It's risky, but I'd possibly do it. Buffalo especially needs a rocket armed QB.

I'm glad they don't pick up a good qb to make the offense good, cuz their D is getting better and better.

LOL Mallet or Weeden they are basically the same... one is slightly younger. neither is very mobil or good vs pressure.

It's Cleveland. I don't think they'd know a good QB if one was chained up in the dawg pound. Even if that happened they'd probably just turn him into Tim Couch.

I don't know about this except for the age statement dude. Mallet looked very good at Arkansas and that arm is no joke. I haven't seen tape on him since that draft but I do remember some guys saying he wasn't good against pressure. The guy has also had 2 years to sit behind one of the best to ever play QB in Tom Bundchen.... I mean Brady. he has had to teach him something.
