I never did anything that stupid other than drink and drive where I could have been put away for manslaughter if I had a wreck and killed someone. I have no idea his state of mind, but I was once "Young and very stupid" also.

I wish him the best, not only the football field, but more importantly off of it.

Man, it'd be great if he took the same approach that Ray did, realize how blessed he is to play in the league and treat every snap like it's his last! Maybe he will lead us like Ray lead the Ravens lol

Nice article, too often we judge a kid by them getting in trouble without knowing much about the situation at all. I hope he makes the best of his life now, and hopefully it means him becoming a very productive person, both on and off the field!

I meant to say this also. I beleive Jointer will make our team, And I think he'll be a starter in 2014. He's going to need a year to get his legs back under him. With Sills and Thomson not dressed most of the year I think we can set him on the bench. Most of me thinks he'll be suiting up more often than not.

I hope that if it comes down to having to only choose one of Maybin, Moch, and Joiner, that Joiner comes out the victor. However, him being a converted DE makes me question his coverage skills. Does anyone know how well he can cover? Would it still be wise to get a true SAM and only bring in Joiner/Maybin/Moch on special rushing packages?

Maybe take the best all around OLB that can play play coverage roles at both SAM and WILL, re-sign Howard, and rotate our OLBs around as needed. Definitely seems like Burfict will take over the middle though.

Yup, i can't wait to see a healthy Moch a motivated Joiner, a confident Burfict, and maybe a 1st round rookie too. Howard isn't bad either if he's healthy, ACL are hard to come back from.

It will definitely be interesting to see how he pans out. I wish him the best of luck for sure.

The LB position on this team is very iffy except for Burfict, but IF Joiner pans out to be something special, Moch and Howard return to 100% healthy and play up to their potential, along with Maybin being a good 3rd and long pass rush specialist, and Burfict continuing his improvement...this could be a very special LB core.

That being said, it's too many IFs, and I think we must draft a very good LB in the first two rounds because we can't afford to take a chance.

Anyone else remember all the heartfelt articles about Odell Thurman "looking into the abyss" and whatnot. They sound good, maybe even move some people, but until the kid gets out there, lives the life, and contributes on the field, it doesn't mean much.

Great perspective Luvinit! Been there, done that, with a third degree felony sentenced to 33 months, did 2 and a half years from June 2003 to November 2005.

The guys that go through this and hit 'bottom', and through that 'bottom', finally 'get it', should ALL be given another shot, including Mike Vick.

Even though, yes what Vick did was awful, it amazes me how the folks who are most critical of him, are the same ones that believe abortion is okay because a woman's body is her own property and she should be able to do whatever she chooses with her own property. Those 'dogs' were Vick's property, so I guess there's a double standard in there somewhere!

It's the ones who keep doing it over and over and especially any that 'get away with it' and think they are above God and the law that will always suffer consequences,,,big time eventually!

Odell was alright, he was getting treatment for his alcoholism, and then his grandma passed so was also a set back.

I look forward to seeing this young man's story develop further as he attempts to make the Bengals team. I applaud the Bengals for giving him the opportunity. I hope he makes the team.
