In the mock draft on nfl.com they have the Bengals selecting Monte Teo in the first round. Thoughts....

but I say, skip him at that spot...if he's available @ 21, see what the interest is by other teams and consider trade down.

I think he will be a fine player, for whoever drafts him, as **** Vital said, he is just a young player that got caught up in a bad situation, has nothing to do with his game.

The most tackles Rey ever had in a season in college was 79. Manti has had 133, 128, 113 in his last 3 years and leaves College with the 11th most tackles in NCAA history. Mantai is a heady player that can quickly diagnose a play to get into the proper position to make an impact. Rey just kinda bumbles around.

Te'o really improved in coverage his senior year. He would be a solid SLB.

BTW, his first name is Manti, not Monte.

But they're both persians with tribal tattoos so they are the same.

Malaluga also played in the Pac10 (now PAC 12) that was loaded with spread teams. Te'o played against teams like Navy and Michigan State that will produce better numbers for a linebacker. And I'm not looking at stats as much as what I see with my eyes. And with Te'o I see a LB that was exposed when he played teams with legit NFL talent and I don't see him being a good NFL player.

no to manti teo, he was exposed against nfl talent in the bcs game, he'll be a bust for the bengals, he'd be better off going with a team that has a better linebacking core

so if a guy has one bad game we should not draft him is that right. The members on this board are a joke sometimes. One game doesn't determine anything its his abilities over his college career and how well he projects to the NFL. I bet everyone in the draft has had a bad game or two so I guess we should just not draft anyone.

I do believe Notre Dame played Michigan that runs a spread and Stanford and USC that are PAC 12 teams. You people point out 1 game and all of a sudden he's a 7th round draft pick. I'm glad you scouts don't work for any NFL teams because those teams would **** for years.

Skip te'o even if hes there at 21. I liked him earlier, but he will be average at best in the nfl. And no this is not just from the bcs game or his girlfriend stuff. He will just be plain average in the nfl at best.

Well said....one game and everyone hates Teo, but before the BCS game everyone on this board thought he walked on water. Fickle and thankfully none of you are in the Bengals scouting department or we would be experiencing the lost decade again!!!

Not a fan of Teo in the first, but in the second, just too much value to pass up. Disappearing in the big game and the girlfriend thing pushes him out of the first in my mind.


Second round, with linebacker such a need, gotta take him.
