I just got a MacBook Pro also (13"). I use it as a personal computer. It's fast in booting up and is very clean and minimalist. While I do agree that it is overpriced, it does what I need it to do and at a very fast rate. It feels very solid and grips the network better than the previous laptops I've had before. I was going to go 'R', but as nice as it was that kind of sharpness didn't suit my needs. I'm not a gamer. I did not buy it to play games online or otherwise.

You love it or hate it. It does everything I need it to do, so I'm happy.

That would likely involve heading over to east campus. By the time I'd get there, it'd be time to go home.

I am covering the phones, so I have to stay here. Our receptionist only works until 3, and we take turns covering for her. Hence why I am bored. I am not at my own computer, so I don't have my games because she doesn't have Chrome installed here and I don't know her admin password and blah de blah.

If all one is trying to do with a laptop is surf the web and watch movies/ listen to music anything over 250 is too much.

Indeed. I regret spending $500 for mine. I have zero need for a full laptop at home even. Tablet would have been a better option, and cheaper.

My buddy was able to get a good one for 250.... I need to get a good one so maybe they will let me work from home some time.

I think the Surface looks cool. The RT runs just like a normal computer would. I think they are the future that the industry is moving towards.

Apple products or Mac whatever you want to call them are extremely overpriced. And the biggest claim is lack of hackers which no one takes the time to hack them because no one that has one has anything useful on their Mac to get to...


They dont make many games for Macs unless you get a windows immulator.. (then you just bought a Mac to be a crappy PC for you...)

MAc computers are Great if you are in the Art design field But even then the right PC will blow those out of the water too....

You don't have the first clue do you? It's the exact same machine, I have multiple SSD's and can boot to OS X, Win 8, Win XP and Unix.

I paid around $1200 and it has a ridiculous benchmark.

Wrong again on graphic design...Adobe suites are geared for OS X and video production on FCP is miles ahead of Avid.

Your comments are only valid on the low end Mac's which are still better options unless you're a carer gamer.

I used to work for a printer-Point of Service advertising from 4x6 to 17x22. The in-house designer had a G4 (that's how long ago it was) and it ran circles around the pentium I used to create the basic design. He'd pull the .gif into Adobe and rip it apart and add layers. It was really cool to see.
