Jason La Canfora over at CBS Sports says the Browns might target wide receiver Mike Wallace and defensive lineman Paul Kruger.
"The Browns have about $30 million in space and will be big spenders under new owner Jimmy Haslam and team president Joe Banner. Many in the Steelers organization believe Wallace will end up with their division rivals in Cleveland (Haslam was a former minority owner of the Steelers), and the Browns could make a play for a pass rusher like Kruger, too. Should Vick become available, he too could be in play -- this new regime badly wants to upgrade from former first-round pick Brandon Weeden -- otherwise Alex Smith might make sense, among others." http://www.cleveland.com/sportsnetwo...e_wallace.html

Re: Browns might target Mike Wallace & Paul Kruger
Not a bad idea I'd grab Wallace, Kruger, and trade for Alex Smith and target other Steeler FA that would fit in the new 3-4. They probably would still need a #1 WR. Have Smith, McCoy, and Weeden compete for the starting QB position. Might could look for a FA or later round rook behind Richardson. They could put a half decent roster together with:
QB: Alex Smith, Colt McCoy, Brandon Weedon RB: Trent Richardson, Montario Hardesty, FA/Rook FB: Owen Marecic WR: Mike Wallace, Josh Gordon, Greg Little, Travis Benjamin, Joshua Cribbs, Jordan Shipley? TE: FA/Rook, Jordan Cameron, Brad Smelley LT: Joe Thomas LG: John Greco, FA/rook C: Alex Mack RG: Same, FA/rook RT: Mitchell Schwartz I think they could improve on offense although I don't see any of those QB's putting up 28+ passing TDs even with improved weapons.

Re: Browns might target Mike Wallace & Paul Kruger
Smith had 13 in 9 games, he could improve, with a good receiving core.

Wallace would be huge for the browns on offense, not saying they will be contenders but that does create a better offense for whoever the Qb maybe for them this year,
