I would.
He gives the team a good chance to win if Dalton went down.

Its just the fact he said he would never play for us again. So why try and make him play for us again?

I love Carson, but I wouldn't want him back here. I think it would be a huge distraction for a player that isn't talented enough to justify the price at THIS POINT in his career.

I doubt Carson would ever come back here unless Marvin is gone. And if Marvin is gone, then I'm fine with him coming back. |

I really like and respect Carson but bringing him back would be a disaster. No way.

Let him rot somewhere else. He doesn't deserve to sit on the sideline and watch this team win with him on the roster.

Re: Would the fans welcome Carson back as a back up?
Naw, i was just as glad as anyone when he left, not that I don't think he would be a up-grade to what we have, but he would never get a fair shake here, maybe he can land in a good situation, Arizona maybe.

Talent wise he'd be a good backup but as others have said, it would be a distraction and hurt the team more than help.
And to be perfectly honest, I do harbor some negative feelings. I understand that he may not have always been treated well by the fans or FO, but honestly quitting doesn't solve much of anything, as has been proven here.

No, will never happen, ever. Too much bad blood, I don't know if Brown would even let Carson retire a Bengal so he deff would be coming back to play second fiddle to Dalton. /end thread

The question is this: Is Carson Palmer better than Bruce Gradkowski? The answer is a solid yes. Therefore, were it possible, I would welcome Carson Palmer back in Cincinnati.

Re: Would the fans welcome Carson back as a back up?
I liked Carson and I say no. He didn't want to be here so I don't want him back. I'd like to see him go to a QB needy team and see him play well though. I don't hate the guy at all I just don't see him wanting back in here. I wouldn't mind seeing him go to the jets or chiefs however I'd be ****** if he ended up in Cleveland.
He is probably one of our top 5 QBs Anderson, Boomer, Palmer, Blake, Dalton

Here's what I think happened: Palmer said nothing so people decided to speculate why he wanted out. The speculation became fact in some people's minds. Doesn't make it true.

Seems I've heard this somewhere before. Poor CP9; a career of no running game, bad OCs, and terrible WRs. He deserved better.

I think strongly that it would create the most unhealthy QB controversy that this team had ever known. Carson left, period. This team did everything to try and get him not to leave and none of it worked. Even after a great draft and getting rid of Chad and Brat, he still refused to play here. That says a lot to me, and honestly about his football prowess. If he didnt see the potential in this team with the draft it had, then he didnt know his own team well enough to even be considered a leader type, and if that is not true then he just hates it here. The results speak for themselves. All you have to look at are the results to know what we had in Carson. A gunslinger type QB with no heart isnt even close to a SB caliber QB and he's proved it in two places now. Andy, with less talent and arm, is a better QB because of his heart and leadership. Results speak so much louder than media and fan opinion. Its really all that needs looked at.

Why would anyone want a quitter in this locker room? No thanks. He'll get a starting job somewhere anyway.

Seems pretty unlikely Bengal fans will ever be asked to.

...and I'll go out on a limb and say where ever that is he'll not be able to be an elite QB because of a poor running game, bad OC, and terrible WRs.

Average defense: 22nd in points allowed 18th in yards allowed Brat was horrible, that's an almost unanimous thought on these boards. The previous Oakland OC got fired after only one season, so it's safe to say he was horrible too. You can be as sarcastic as you want, but there's absolutely no denying that what I stated is a fact. Anyway, I'm done here. Last edited by shaolinghost; 02-14-2013 at 11:13 PM. |
