Default Bengals fan poll

According to the poll on the Bengals.com front page, Bengals fans are more interested in the Patriots game this year than any other. One would think that the game against a super bowl winning division rival would top the list. Could it be that, even after winning the super bowl, most fans are simply not impressed? It's painfully obvious that the Patriots are widely regarded as the better franchise even after losing to Baltimore in the playoffs. Let's face it, the Bengals would get far more credit for beating New England than they would for beating the Ravens.

Oh, and steeler fans, it's clear that you are no longer public enemy number 1. You're only as annoying as your team is good, and your team isn't very good anymore. If you're not careful, the browns will catch you.

Do you think Patriots fans, Ravens fans or Steeler fans care about playing the Bengals?

As much as I hate to agree, I'm forced to. Until the Bengals prove they can consistently hang, those 3 fan bases chalk up a W on those weeks.

Even with the Steelers not doing so hot lately and a W not as guaranteed, the Bengals are generally last on the list of the division teams to dislike, depends who you ask as to their position relative to the Browns. Plenty of Steelers fans I know even place TN, Dallas, and NE above the Bengals on the list of teams to care about.

Well, the steelers did get eliminated from the playoffs by the Bengals. But regardless, you are dodging the question.

Nobody is dodging the question. It's irrelevant. Do you think any Ravens fans care? Do you think any Patriots fans care? Do you think Patriots fans or players have the Bengals game circled on on their mind? I'm pretty sure they may look to get back at the Ravens for sweeping them last year than playing the Bengals.

Ravens won the SB. Fans or anyone could careless about a poll on a forum.

Patriots? Yes. Steelers? Usually. Ravens? Not so much. The Bengals are 11-9 vs the Ravens under Marv.

That should change after the Bengals knocked the Steelers out on their own field last year.

Nevermind the fact that our team's future looks a heck of a lot brighter.

The Ravens and Steelers don't overly impress us. We respect them for being tough almost every year and we know it will always be a dogfight with them. But we have beaten them often enough to know that they are beatable. We haven't beaten NE in a long time. We have something extra to prove with them... a monkey on our back.

Marc had a little success because he was coached under and familiar with Billick.

You do realize that once Harbs came Marv is 4-6 against them.

but the ravens geezer defense is now vulnerable; looks like a 7-9 season is on the horizon with new franchise qb flacco...

Ok so on one hand you have folks saying that Ray Lewis was a liability on the Ravens D. Then on the other hand you have folks saying R. Lewis was still the same player from a decade ago and he is the Ravens D. Which is it?

Incase you weren't paying attention. The Ravens D wasn't the reason for success this year.

The Ravens lost their best cheerleader when they didn't allow the fat one to go to New Orleans. They lost their second best cheerleader when Ray retired.

Oh man...I can't wait to see how much they overpay that dude.

20% of their cap is going to be used on an average QB.

Having to pay a franchise QB is a good problem to have.

Yep Average = Superbowl MVP
Yep Average= one of the best post seasons ever by a QB

I'll take that guy over Dalton.

Everyone knows the legitimate Superbowl MVP is named Jacoby Jones, unless John Fox was on the ballot. Not only would they not have won, the Ravens wouldn't have even been in the game to begin with were it not for those two.

But would you take him over Dalton if the money saved by having Dalton instead of Flacco allowed the team to sign 3 or 4 additional quality players? I'm sure you'll say you would, or that that won't be the case, but I prefer Dalton and our cap situation.

That may apply to the Rats, but the bengals beating the Steelers is more like...

Once the Bengals become a consistent contender, things will change. The reason the Ravens top the list for pretty much every Steelers fan is because it is consistently a fight. The Bengals will put up a fight for a couple meetings, but they are inconsistent.

No.....because remember the Ravens had Flacco already at a discount. Won a Superbowl with him at a discount. Every year salaries increase and increase. The Bengals are going to have to deal with Daltons new salary in about two seasons and his salary may be even higher than the one Flacco is about to sign. Plus new rules are in place which will make M Brown spend and the Bengals are going to have to pay some players soon enough.

The Ravens generally draft very well and obtain great role players. They will be ok.

It'll balance out.

We have not cared about playing the bengals since 05' playoffs. And that was just to shut them up. Then again, they're still crying about Palmers knee
