He may become a free agent if the Bears decide to take Te'o in the draft. I think Mike Brown needs to cough up the dough a little bit this time around since he has to spend money. Urlacher would be a huge upgrade to our LB core & we could do more in the draft.

Re: Brian Urlacher?
No thank you. Would rather have a young Burfict in the middle than an aging and much slower Urlacher. Also prefer Howard on the weakside since our SLB does not even play half the defensive snaps.

Agree with what some others are saying with putting Burfict in the middle. Both the FA and draft are weak in terms of MLB talent overall, and we need to groom someone to be a long term MLB.
The draft is very strong for WLB, and we could also bring back Howard for WLB, who was good prior to injury. Best LB position in FA may be SLB. It may be best to put Burfict at MLB, FA for SLB, and draft a stud for WLB (Ogletree, Brown, Greene, Porter) |

I agree, I really want Burfict in the middle and think he will be the shot in the arm the LB core needs.

I want what ever Zim wants. He has put together a top 10 D almost every year with a grab bag of misfit players. If he wants Tez in the middle I'll support it, if not that's cool with me

It feels like I was just reading about and commenting on how we're a young team that's explosive and youthful and then this thread pops up................ it makes me want to......................

If he is healthy I would love to have him. I could see him playing into his late 30s similar to Fletcher, Takeo, Keith Brooking, or the murderer...
Doesn't surprise me he had a down year after knee surgeries. A healthy Urlacher is 10 times better than Maualuga. Even if he lost a step he is probably faster than Maualuga and his leadership, instincts, and football intelligence would be a huge boost. |

He's old, and injury prone, we should sign him..
Said by almost every member of this board. God you people need to get a grip. |

Right. Let's add a key veteran to the D. I want Burfict in the middle just like everybody else, but if we added urlacher at MLB vontaze and him would be a dominant duo along with Thomas Howard.

I really want Burfict to step up and be one of the leaders of this defense. He's instinctive and seemingly football-smart and hopefully he will become the true quarterback of the d.
Urlacher has been the unquestioned leader of Chicago's d for a long time. I'd have to think he'll become the man wherever he signs. I'm not sure that's what this team needs right now, at least not from an outside player. I just don't see Brian as a complementary guy. |

Brian Urlacher would be great in the middle. Moving Burfict to the middle is a bad idea, as he said he prefers to play in space and was never that good in the middle at ASU. Urlacher may not be the elite player he once was, but he's still a top 10 linebacker and is an instant boost to a weak position on the team

I think we should keep our team young and put Burfict at MIKE and draft Ogletree to play SAM. Howard - WILL Burfict - MIKE Ogletree - SAM

Urlacher is old and broken down, plus he would want more money than he is worth. Sorry dude but this is a pretty awful idea.

As well he shouldn't, the guy is a Chicago Bear for life and should stay that way.

This. One more year in Chi-town, then off to the HOF.

I don't understand why we can't never sign BIG TIME free-agents! The Bengals have a good young defense, but no real leader or personality that will give this Defense an identity. There's no secret we (The Bengals) need LB'ers. With all the cap money the Bengals have right now, can't they sign at least one BIG TIME free-agent? Quit playing games, OPEN the check book! "LACK" will look good in Orange & Black! Ijs..
