Chiefs close to acquiring QB Alex Smith

so it's not official, both clubs view it at as it's effectively done. I do not know the other team. KC and JAX are 2 teams that make sense



Really wouldn't surprise me if they gave up the 33rd pick. 49ers are going to be a deadly team if they have three picks in the first two rounds.

Hmm, we'll have to see what happens but it is kind of funny the Chiefs are replacing a guy who flourished in a good system with a guy who flourished (finally) in a good system. Is Alex Smith going to be Cassel 2.0?

Well Cassel only played 1 year before getting a deal. Smith was at least decent prior to Harbaugh's arrival. Plus I could see them drafting Joeckle with the number 1 pick and then taking Geno Smith at 33

The lack of QB talent in this draft is really quite sad...I feel bad for teams who need a QB this year.

well matt cassel isnt even a Alex Smith 0.5 so no he wont be a cassel 2.0..

He might not work out for the Cheifs but hes a better option than cassel.
