- well, normally we here tend to see that show as some kind of crude Hollywood self-adulation we only watch in secret; but this year those ignorants nominated an Austrian film for 5 different categories, so we of course modify our views and would now see an actual win as the highest honour imaginable... Oscars! Yeah! So exciting!

Anyone watching?

I think he found a good balance of being edgy, as most of his work is, but also provided a timeless element to his opening. And lets not act surprised he got Shatner involved. Awesome.

I'm not easily offended, but MacFarlane isn't my bag. It's not that racism, sexism, homophobia, and making light of domestic violence is offensive to me, I just don't find it funny.

That's just me, though.

The "I saw your boobs" song was pretty funny...I could tell alot of people were uncomfortible with everything he said though. LIGHTEN UP HOLLYWOOD!!

Usually I can't stand the Academy Awards but when I heard Shirley Bassey would be singing Goldfinger and Adele would be singing Skyfall, I actually decided to watch. I can safely say that Shirley and Adele saved the Oscars!

Adele is a terrific singer and I admire her because she sounds just as good live as she does when recorded which is my measure of true talent.

But Shirley Bassey -- Oh my: She was just freakin' sick. Even at age 76 and long retired from active singing, Shirley just came out and destroyed Goldfinger. She crushed that song. She retired it! The orchestra was on fire for her and, as a trumpet player, let me tell you what: The brass parts in Goldfinger take more air and control than anything else I ever played. Shirley Bassey is a classic singer and when she was on stage I was bawling like a teenage girl at a Jonas Brothers concert. Her voice is so, so, so, um, I can't find the words.

Barbra Streisand showed up too. Meh.
