That depends on what the argument is.

If you want to compare franchises/organizations as a whole sure you can compare them.

If you want to compare 10 year runs at a time then no you can't compare the Bengals or their record from the 2000's to their record of the 80's.

The 90's is up for debate since it really was not that long ago and depending on the argument a lot hasn't changed as far as ownerships etc.

You absolutely cannot compare the NFL of today with that of the 30's 40's etc.

Where did I say there was a disadvantage to win 1930 to 1970? I never remotely made that claim. See that is the problem Bengal fans get all defensive and think steeler fans purposely leave those years out. To be honest if it weren't for those horrible years the steelers probably would not be the franchise they are today.

Also, if you think there was no difference in the NFL pre draft, when referees were taken locally or since new innovations schemes etc. you are an idiot.

Are you so dense that you can't follow a simple train of thought. Yes they were all on equal footing within each era. Every post I have made was in reference to comparing eras not teams within each era.

It still amazes me how one year of the bengals having a large number of arrests makes them criminals, when the vikings and steelers have had many more arrests than the bengals in years late. I even remember seeing a post somewhere where some guy did the math!
