What makes you think that they may be looking at those particular RBs? If you don't mind me asking.

Personally, I think Franklin will have the better pro career.

I am on the Franklin bandwagon. Would love him in stripes.

Gio all the way, the play's would be endless with that kid. He can do pretty much anything you ask him running and catching like WR.

Yeah it was the ignorantly named thread "Jim Anderson is a moron".

Vision, flexibility in running, sneaky tough, and most importantly, both can play in pass pro.

Fair enough assessment. Like I said earlier, I see Franklin as having the better pro career.

I also really like Joseph Randle from OSU, i think with some polishing he can be similar to Lesean Mccoy.

A scenario that is growing on me is to add Kenjon Barner with one of our 2nd RD selections and then in the 4th snatching Christine Michael if he is available

Eh I wouldn't like that scenario, but a second is probably what it will take to get Barner in the end.

Eddie Lacy isn't quite the compliment to BJGE and more of a replacement that's better.

Giovani Bernard would compliment him nicely as I consider him the best all around RB in the draft he can do almost anything

Joseph Randle would be a good compliment and is one of the more consistent and durable options.

Barner/Gillislee add the most dynamic speed and catching out of this crop.

Andre Ellington wouldn't be too bad of a compliment and some people expect him to surprise at the combine.

I've loved Jonathan Franklin since early this season. Played great and can run and catch well I expect he'll be available in the middle rounds.

Me and OSUfan have liked Zac Stacy out of Vanderbilt for a while. I think he could be a hidden gem and I have wondered if he'll surprise at the combine.

Christine Michael looks like the best RB in the draft from what I've seen. Dude has the size, speed, wiggle, vision etc.

Not sure why everyone has him going in the 3rd or 4th. I've heard he was injured at one point and clashed with coaches, but still.

He's the only RB that I've watched this year that made my jaw drop.

I am telling you right now Michael is the darkhorse back of this draft.

It must be the knee injury and the broken leg but he certainly has shown no ill effects from either.

I rather think the Bengals are looking for a starter that Ellis can be a compliment/backup to.

Agree with this.

We need "the Man" and not just a complimentary back.

I agree BJGE is not the answer at RB. We need a starter and stop with this idiotic RB by committee crap.

Nope not always right you are just consistently wrong.

So you jumped in so let's here about the running backs. Bring something to the table. Or would you rather just talk smack about how terrible most every player on the team is?

Yes, that's what I think Ellis is, a solid complimentary guy, not a starter. 1000+ in a 16 game season really isn't anything special.

RBBC is fine if you've got two good RBs, especially with different styles and you cause more problems for the defense by getting them both touches. However, our 2012 attempt at it with an average back known more for his nickname than his talent along with a guy who always gets hurt and of course got hurt again was just horrible.

I know this for sure, if we draft a talented guy, early in the regular season next year, they will rip off some huge games against the 7 man fronts they'll be seeing. Then look for the pass game to pick up from there as soon as DCs start bringing more men into the box.

Looks like Micheal is getting a lot of love this week. IMO I want to stay away from the injury guys, Benard, Latt, Micheal.

Last thing we need is another injured RB, however you never know what will happen.

Seems to be a bunch of different flavors at RB this year.
My prediction, BJGE is your opening day starter.

Bernard is the best back available IMO. Problem is that when Jim Anderson means a complement to BJGE, he is essentially saying I want to replace BJGE with another back who is just like BJGE. If somehow Jim Anderson had another Adrian Peterson dropped in his lap at 37 he wouldnt have a clue what to do with him. The man is stuck with his vision of the ideal back of the 1980's and 1990's. The game has passed him by.

We need a back who is quicker than what we have, especially so they can get to the edge before the defense does. That would help right there by putting outside running plays back into the playbook as viable options.

This thread hurt Jim Anderson's feelings.
He is now retiring.
