Possibly the greatest WLB of all-time (Derrick Brooks) weighed less than 240. If you run the 4-3, a guy who can play sideline to sideline @ Will is a must. Howard did when healthy, for the most part. Someone else mentioned it, but coming out of UTEP, he ran 4.4's @ 240+. Naturally, Al Davis drafted him.

They tried to play Brown outside at The U and he was terrible (17 tackles in 2 years). Randy Shannon said "he wasn't very good". He moved inside, went to K-State, and flourished. I really don't see him moving back outside in the Pros and being very good.

Id rather grab him and have him play inside anyways. i dont want burfict inside. i love the guy and he is an absolute animal but after seeing us repeatedly get burnt over the middle b/c our slow middle linbacker cant cover will kill me. Burfict isnt fast and although his insticnts are incredible his speed will still cause him to suffer at times in the open field. I say we let burfict continue beasting outside and we bring in a guy like hodges or brown or ogletree(but not ogletree in the first if hes there in the second for some reason then fine) and have them play middle...i believe all three will be atleast solid starters in the NFL...I love hodges tho. The league is pass happy...we need lbs that can cover.

Here is all of what he said:
Hurricanes coach Randy Shannon decided to move Brown from weakside to inside linebacker for his sophomore season, saying he began flourishing in the new role toward the end of the 2008 season. “The last two weeks of the season he was phenomenal at middle linebacker on scout team. Like Ray Lewis, when he first got here he was outside and he wasn't very good,” said Shannon.[11]

Im sure it wasn't fun for Randy watching Brown and KSU beat them in MIA last year and again here this year.

Here is a good read, new today about Brown.

I do think he should stay in the middle, I think he makes a great nickel/dime guy day one. The test will be shedding 325-340 Guards. ZOne thing though is he attacks and won't stand in an open hole and wait to get ran over like Rey.

Interesting fact Aurther and his brother are the only brothers that were both 5 star recruits. From what I've seen and read Aurther has been nothing but a class act and leader here in Manhattan.
