Rivers is like a lot of players and coaches I defend here. I never said he was a Pro bowl type player. All I ever said was that he was not as bad as many people claim.

Apparently he didn't want to be here. If that is true then I am glad he is gone. But I would not have complained if we had kept him here either (as long as his heart was in it).

We pry would not have had Howard or Burfict if he was still here.

I think Burfict is more impressive already than Rivers ever was. But that is just my opinion.

Thing people often forget about rivers... He was drafted a year after we played a few games with only 2 healthy Linebackers. He came in and was solid (not flashy not a game changer but solid which at the time is what we needed)

But he was never able to take over for 3 downs or stay healthy a whole season. And we when we let him go we were able to get Marvin Jones for him instead of just letting him walk into free agency and get nothing.

so it was a good move. Burfict should continue to improve and now we have found Lamur And Howard.

Biggest question at Linebacker for us is 2013 Sam spot.
