That is saying that Peyton had all damn day. Perfect pockets. Time to set his feet and throw. This has been why we get shredded all year. We can't make the opposing QB feel uncomfortable. They have all day to throw. We need to invest in a pass rusher early.

Most definitely, our CBs are fine. But no corner is going to be able to cover all day. Pass rushing LB, DE something, but get somebody who can harass the QB. Atkins (and at times Dunlap) can't do it all themselves.

I don't think it will ever sink in on people. I've defended Newman several times, I think he has done a very admirable job with what he was thrusted into. It's as if some people just don't realize the corners need a pass rush and the pass rush needs the corners. The Bengals have the corners, but not the pass rush. At least not a consistent one.

We have nothing at MLB
We have nothing at C
We have nothing at WR2
We have nothing at DE (vs. good teams)
We have nothing at S

Although I think Dre could be a good S and then we would need a CB
Sanu and Jones could be all pro in a few years (who knows). We need a vet now.

C, MLB should be on our #1 need list honestly, Rey played pretty well today and not as bad as many claim throughout the year and Burifct has shown some promise, guess im biased because im not a huge fan of Teo. As for Center when Cook comes back he is a pretty decent Center and im willing to give him a chance to see what he can do with competent OGs.

At this point, you gotta look at value, Where were picking we will probably have a chance to get a top DE/Pass Rusher so Pass Rusher in 1 is my pick.

There are no 1st round RBs at this point, There should be WRs who can do what we need in round 2 and there are good SS's in 2-3 also.

2. RB/OLB
2. WR/OLB
3. SS/OLB

I know I saw Dunlap force Peyton to the ground on the Newman interception on their own end.

Regardless, I'd like a more efficient pass rush.

I meant those were my picks in each round not the order I would take them, Like I said I really believe DE will be BPA in 1 and I think 2-3 there will be value at positions of need like WR,RB,SS, and OLB.

I agree that pass rush is a big problem. But it isn't our only BIG problem.

WTS, our run defense was quite good today. On 26 carries, the Broncos had 46 yards and averaged 2.6 yards per carry. This stat was greatly padded when Peko exited the game for some amount of time and the Bengals defense gave up a 12 yard run to McGahee.

It seems that the defensive scheme was to stop the run game. If this was the case, then playing sound run defense seems to limit QB pressures.

Another disturbing stat is that there was only 1 tackle for a loss. Geno Atkins had it on a running play.

Another disturbing stat is the Broncos were 9 for 14 on 3rd down. 64%. Decker dropped at least 1 easy 1st down on 3rd. That would put it over 70%.

While true, a good pass rush would likely help with alot of those passing stats Manning put up. When he is standing in a clean pocket every snap there isnt to much our defenders can do out there.

Imo out of our BIG problems pass rush is our BIGGEST. Not to mention I see a top 10 pick for us and there are some good pass rushers at the top of this draft.

Did they lose their nads in the same place? Marv's have been gone longer, but Mike's have fallen off too. Rule 1 for coaching--If what you're doing ain't working, do something else. Going against Peyton Manning, what kind of moron goes all out against the run? If they run for 200 yards 5 yards at a time against me, so be it, as long as Peyton isn't throwing 3 td passes against me, including 2 in the 4th quarter. What nimrod put that gameplan together?

Yet isn't it a re-occuring theme with Marv?

Things Marvin wants to do... and the methods he takes to get them always seem backwards.

We want a WC offense but we don't run one. Running back by committe but it's mostly BJGE. Can't pass to the backs because our blocking isn't good enough. Can we even execute a screen pass properly?

I agree and disagree with this one, we probably wont bring back MJ after the season and that leaves a big gap at DE, but our LB core is soooo depleted, i think that should be our priority, we will do just good enough to miss out on Te'o and on jarvis jones, so i think we'll settle for Alex Olgetree from UGA. Not a sexy pick, and reminds me of the whole Keith Rivers pick all over again. RT could also be a direction we go with Smith possibly leaving, i could see him in an eagles uniform easy next year. DE is loaded this year's draft with depth, so i could very well see us using a 2nd round pick (Oakland's pick probably) on a DE, but look for us using our 1st on LB, and if we trade back a few times like we sometimes like to do, we could possibly grab a RT depending on Andre Smith's status. Not saying i agree with this, but given our recent draft history, dont be surprised!
