Now I'm not sure if I have this right or not, but if I don't then let me know.

If person A goes to the cops and confesses to a murder, they can be arrested.

If person A goes to the cops and admits to doing Coke, they aren't arrested.

Why is this?

Possession is the crime.

They need evidence to put you in jail if you have already done it all they got nothing. Unless you commit a crime on Coke

Lol, no. This basically just stemmed from the Lance Armstrong thing. Then I started wondering why people can confess to using PED's and other drugs and not get in trouble. But if you confess to murder you do.

You can get thrown in jail for failing a suicide attempt too... Attempted murder.


Well PED's can be anything... The term Performance enhacing Drugs... Just means you took something to get an Edge for what your Doing... Like if you were in a contest that was for Staying Awake the longest a 5 hour energy would be a proformance enhancer.

Now people getting paid millions to play games are heavily scurtinized for this. but your average joe smoe isnt.

Ok, well yea the first two are great. But sitting around on a drug/alcohol of your choice, not having to hear your girl rambling about home improvement for 4 hours, playing XBOX, is priceless.

Well, if the cop you confessed doing coke to, took it to heart and chose to drug test you, you could be charged with drug abuse.

Drug abuse in itself, is a crime in most states.

You don't actually get arrested for confessing. You get detained for 24-72 hours. They still have to prove you murdered someone- evidence- just a confession would never hold up in court. I could walk in to a station tonight and say I killed someone, tell them an elaborate story and it not be true- prolly get charged with inducing panic or something of the sorts.

Like other posters above it's not illegal to do drugs, it's illegal to have them in your possession or distribute. unless you're doing it while operating a vehicle.
