I know that one, too. People just like to dismiss it whenever I bring it up. Unlike the second amendment which is hard to interpret meaning of and how it applies today given the number of changes between the world of the framers and today, there are things like that for the SOCAS argument, concrete evidence. Yet it just gets ignored.

Anyway, I'll end that rant. Just wanted to pull the same thing that gets pulled on me.

Well people will choose to believe what they want. 40 million Germans thought the Fuhrer was a mighty fine feller. And for proof, he liked dogs. Couldn't be all bad.

If you want more on SOCAS, go look up quotes by all the Founding Fathers and Hero's of the Revolution, starting with Thomas Paine.

Most are eye poppers.

Oh, I have a shelf on my bookshelves devoted to stuff on the founding fathers and religion. One of my favorite topics.

I haven't yet read anyone using the buzz phrase, "personal responsibility," yet.

Where does the personal responsibility of the gun owner fit into all of this to prevent a Sand Hook Elementary shooting from happening?
I'm not sure if your asking me this or not. I saw later you answered your own post/question. I thought this thread dropped off the map yesterday. You're gonna have Fred hysterical with this kind of thing.

I can't foresee the future with a magic answer as to what might happen somewhere sometime, but if your asking specifically about the Sandy Hook incident, then I think it's obvious that if you as a parent suspect your son is luney tunes enough to want them locked up or committed if you prefer, then it's probably not a good idea to hand them an assault rifle and have a jolly good time showing them how to shoot the thing.
