It's not even a question.

He's not only the best linebacker, but you could also argue that he's having the biggest impact of any linebacker on the team, which is impressive when you consider that he's doing it from WILL where he's not directly in most plays (I mean they usually don't run directly at him or throw directly at him, etc.).

No doubt. Been playing lights out and like you said, leading the team in tackles from the
WILL position is no little task. Brings the swagger which we needed so badly as well.

He is a free high draft pick, at least a 2nd rounder. He is helping to off-set the Kirkpatrick's contributions thus far.

Makes you wonder how many tackles he would have had a MLB.

Or if he had played in every game.

I agree and the swagger is big because it's something that this D has lacked for a long time.

I think that our ends and Atkins are also bringing some of that to our D (even Peko to some degree).

We have a top ten defense, so why would you even want to change the main part of it, which is the MIKE, which is the biggest part of our D because it's the QB of the D.

Maybe he wouldn't do as well as MIKE............. maybe he'd do better, but you'd be making a major change and who's to say that we'd get someone else at WILL who can fill in it and allow the rest of the D to be as good?

He's said that he likes playing on the outside better because he's more free to make plays, which I think is what he's best at.

Geno has tons of swagger, sacks the QB and goes and does it again, relentless.

I am not a big fan of Rey though even if he has played better as the season has went on.

I think Crocker has actually been the QB of the Defense, more-so than Rey.

I agree on Geno but I feel like he can only do so much from the line and I feel like it needs to come from a backer who's more visible and is more free to move and make plays (Geno makes plays but he's limited to a smaller space than Burfict).

Rey hasn't been a superstar, but I've been impressed with how he's handled everything. Like you said, he's improving and has gotten better, and we don't really know what goes on in the huddle or who leads/inspires who, but it's usually the MIKE.

I haven't been that impressed with Crocker.

About Crocker, it is not his play that has been impressive. It has been his brain and it is no coincidence the Defense started playing great once he was picked up again.

Rey is not the sharpest tool in the shed and i believe you need that at MIKE.
