I like this idea a lot. I think the only way the Bengals win is in a place outside of Cincinnati for 2 reasons:
1) The small market - In LA, the Bengals will have MUCH more moeny rolling in. Not as far as rosters and salary caps. Not that way. But as far as income. However much their profit is in Cincy, it will be MUCH higher in LA. More people. More sales. More TV stations. More advertising. More corporations to buy club seats. The Bengals will have MUCH MUCH more income. This will make them competitive by things like having more money to spend on scouts, trainers, medical professionals, personnel office, etc. Not to mention that LA would be a much bigger draw for FAs and coaches than Cincy would. 2) The ONLY way for Mike Brown and Co to leave the team. LA won't put up with Brown's miserly ways. He would be out on his butt in a second. He either has to step down or change his ways. Either way, that is the best and only way the Bengals become successful. Los Angeles Bengals! Los Angeles Tigers! Portland Tigers! Toronto Tigers! Whatever the name - its the TEAM I support. Not the city... |

Also, we have a nice newer stadium. Not many cities can claim that. If Toronto gets any team, it's going to be the Bills. Toronto is only 80 miles from Buffalo. If they put a team in Toronto, attendance for Bills games would decrease further, and they would have to move the Bills.

Also, winning creates a lot more revenue too. How vehemently has Mike been pursuing that? 2) How many people in St. Louis do you think are Cardinals fans? Or Colts fans in Baltimore? |

Mike can't move the team to LA...he was banned from Cali in 1987 when he was arrested for streaking down Crenshaw while high on Angel dust with his then girlfiriend Phyllis Diller. Mike denies the incident and made it "dissappear" from the books with a few benjamins. Unfortunately for Mike, during his freedom run he verbally insulted Harvey "Crybaby" Thomas (the Seargent at arms for the local Blood chapter) with racial slurs. Crybaby has sworn to avenge justice on Mike should he ever set a foot back in LA and Mike has managed to stay on the East side of the country every since. This story was based on a lie to waste some time

Here we go again!
Everytime the Bengals fail to sell out and the fans begin to talk about walking and doing something else on Sundays, the Browns get someone to post something this stupid on this board. Well, Mr. Brown, go ahead and take your sorry team to anywhere, USA and see if you can find other stupid fans who will put up with your poor management for over 20 years! I don't think you will find any more loyal fans than what you have right here! And I know you know that! ![]() |

If you do the math, Mike Brown would be 82 in 2017. That is the same age as Paul Brown died. I think he wanted to retire and sell the team in 2017 and I am sure that if AEG still hasn't found a team to move to LA, they will pay whatever the Brown family asks. Remember, AEG tried to buy a part of the Bengals from the estate of Arthur Knowlton, who held a reported 20 percent. Mike and family had to cough up a lot of cash to keep AEG out. Of course the original deal had a clause that allowed the Browns to have first dibs on the shares and at perhaps a less than market value price. I assure you that if AEG got the 20 percent shares, they would be actively prodding the Brown family on every decision to make them more ameniable to move the team or sell it outright. So by buying those shares, the Browns did keep the Bengals in Cincinnati... for now.

I'd like it if Brown moved & started a new team. Just as long as we keep our team here and have a new owner that wants to win...I see the Browns new owner is going to turn that organization around to be a legit contender in years to come...So if Mikey don't actually try then he better be prepared to finish last in division year after year.

2) The question of moving presupposes that Cincy loses its team. A lot of fans cheer for a team because its their city. There are fans that support the TEAM, though, and not the city. So, you're right, the city of Cincinnati would never see an NFL team and would probably forever hate the Bengals. But, a new generation of fans in LA would get a team. A team that most likely has new ownership. |

How desperate would a team have to be to invite a passionate loser?!? Well, it's an NFL team. So yeah, just about any city. (Mikey won't live forever.)
But what could they do about it? Other than leave the stadium empty--which would affect the team's books--there's NOTHING that can be done. When the Bengals were at their lowest, losing 11-13 games almost every year, the commish came to Cincy and declared everything FINE! (Because the books were good.) Quote:
Mikey managed to snooker Cincy into paying HIM if the games didn't sell out. I imagine L.A. would have to at least match that (or something of equal value to him). My advice to America: 1. Mikey signs no contract where he isn't in complete control. 2. If you think you can force Mikey to stop losing, you can't...because of #1. |

Just look at what is happening to the county to finance the Bengals. Hospitals sold. Jails shut. Government employees let go, others not getting any raises. And that was in 2011! The county is going to be in even bigger debt. All for what? A loser owner that only brings this county heartache? Get your priorities straight! This is a game. Schools, jobs, hospitals - those should be the priorities. |
