Good point. How many points do you think the Patriots would hang on our D?

Answer: Lots

It's an offensive driven league now. We should always try to upgrade in all 3 aspects of the game (offense, defense and special teams), but I believe right now for us, offense should have the highest priority.

This team needs a solid veteran presence @ the WR position. AJ is essentially mentoring himself, and we have ZERO receivers or TEs past their rookie contracts. That was a big mistake going into this season, and was a big reason for our failure down the stretch last year as well.

A good Center, a solid veteran #2 WR, and a running back with the ability to take it to the house should put this team over the top.

This - and it's feasible.

And we might be able to upgrade at safety as well. I know they are going to go BPA in the first 2 rounds. If they can at least sign a bonafide #2 receiver (I would like Jennings: tough, great routes, good hands, fast and been around in a good WCO). If we could find a way to convince Reggie Bush too (I know I'm pipe dreaming here) we could pick up a dynamite safety and upgrade at center and linebacker to boot.

I may be dreaming here - but at least sign the receiver and draft one of the RBs in the 1st 2 rounds and we are going to be much better right away.

Our line got manhandled down the stretch, we need a running back, and our TE has hands of stone, cannot out muscle corners or outrun safetys.

Sorry to be Debbie Downer, but when I see the elite teams it reminds me how far we are from contending.

Not entirely true! Ravens 28-Patriots 13 You can play the greatest offense in the league with one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game and only need to score 14 points as long as you have at least a 5 year above average QB, a great running game, and outstanding special teams and defense.

We can? You mean like that 44 to 13 stomping we received? Do not even talk about the last game, they did not even play their starters.
