bengals Re: The Ravens are about to have a BIG losing streak!

If we want to get to the playoffs we need to beat the steelers or the ravens ......Or maybe even both .....And if we cant beat them we dont belong in the playoffs anyway....I would have to say that of the 3 teams we are playing the best right now.....But to me everytime we play the steelers or the ravens marvin lewis go in to this compacked offense ...And trys to run the ball every down like he is afraid to throw the ball....And the team seems to melt if we have a bad play....We gotta get over this B.S. they are not the same 2 teams we played 3 years ago....But on the upside we had 3 turnovers agained the chargers and hung in there.....And found a way to win.....Thats a real good sign...I do have a good felling we are gonna beat them both......But 1st we gotta beat the cowboys and eagels or it wont matter.......We put 20 points on the board we will win all 4 games.....I think our defense is playing that good.....Defense only gave up 2 touchdowns in last 4 games.....And.this team has got better every week last week was learning how to overcome turnovers and find a way to win........AND THE BEST PART OF IT ALL IS WE ARE SO YOUNG ....GET USE TO WINNING BECAUSE THIS TEAM IS ON THE RISE

I just think that it would have been much more appropriate, and sporting, to post this in the Smack Forum, so we could get some Ravens' fans input on the situation as well.
Actually, you are incorrect. The Bengals control their OWN destiny right now. They don't have to rely on anyone else but themselves. If they win out, they are in the playoffs, GUARANTEED. It won't matter what any other team does.

Now, to win the division, they will need help from two of Baltimore's opponents (DEN, WAS, NYG) and then win out. But, the road to the playoffs is entirely up to Cincinnati and no one else.

We can lose either Dallas or Philly game and still get in by winning the rest. Basically comes down to beating Pitt & Balt. Luv the Playoff Machine!

Plus, remember '06 when we only needed to win one of our last three to get into the playoffs and we couldn't do it? We just need to handle our business and not worry about anybody else.

Will Rey be back to full strength? Suggs out will also hurt.

We need to win out and we're in regardless, but, if the Ravens happen to lose a few and we can get home field advantage, you'd have to love our momentum and potential in PBS.

Focus on the Cowboys first, though.
Don't forget it's possible for the Colts to lose 3 of their last 4 as well in which case the Bengals could afford to lose a game whether it be against the Steelers or not. There are just so many scenarios that could play out in the next 4 weeks. It's really exciting to see the Bengals play meaningful games late in the season after they were counted down and out at 3-5.

Reedy had a good write up of all the scenarios...

We would most likely have to finish a game up on both the Colts or Ravens to avoid losing the tie-breaker to them.

Lets just win out so we don't have to worry about any of this!

Actually, I DID say they need others to win games for them to win the DIVISION.

Though I do believe that the Ravens age going to lose another game or two, I don't see a complete impolosion coming on.

Also, the Redskins beat the Giants. Ravens have to go to DC to take on RGIII. Could be a loss. And you know San Diego is due to win one. Hopefully this week vs the Steelers.

Bengals have to focus on Dallas though.
Watching RGIII the other night, I wonder how we ever beat the Skins? Sure glad we did though.

I loved the adjustments we made at half time in that game. Redskins were running that option play and gashing us in the first half. Once 2nd half started they continued running that option play. Marvin or zimmer must have told the defense to hit rg3 regardless of whether he has the ball or not. Then they quit running the option play shortly after that.

I could see the Colts losing both games against the Texans, easy, and then they could drop one to the Titans, which I don't see happening, or the Chiefs, who, despite their record, have been a very tough team at home.

Actually. though, we'd need to finish ahead of the Ravens anyways or we'd still be the Wild Card and wouldn't get a first round buy.

Like I've said, though, I'd just rather us take care of business and win our way in, rather than bank on other teams losing.

I love it, too, because half time adjustments were something unknown to Marvin until this season!!

Even if it's other coaches having more say, Marvin's game planning, clock management, challenges, etc., should have him ranked as one of the best coaches this season!! (Assuming he finishes strong.)
