Hmmmm........smart comments from someone who just joined in Feb.. Coincidence? I think not.

I am a fan of Franklin but is he a more complete runner than Micheal? Absolutely not. Nice try though.

They provided no list of strengths. However, don't fret; bfine is here to light a candle and let you see what NFLDRAFTSCOUT.COM has to say about Michael:

He's quick to the hole, shows excellent vision for the cutback, possesses good acceleration and enough lateral agility to elude defenders. Sees would-be tacklers coming and breaks a lot of tackles with a nice spin move, as well as a strong stiff-arm. No stranger to the weight room, Michael runs low to the ground with good pad level and lateral agility to make strong cuts.

Do you think he is a guy that CIN would be looking to draft? I think he fits the offense, In a BJGE role. I wonder if they are looking for more of a healthy version of B.Scott.
Like Randle, Franklin, Barner, Ellington, K.Williams type of guys.

IDK It is going to be interesting where they take a RB and who they take.
If they haven't taken a RB and Michael is there in the 3rd..might be a good spot
to scoop him up.

Guy is big strong and ran a 4.4 forty. He would relegate Ellis back to where he is best as a relief back and short yardage/goal line specialist. Michael would be a real feature back and that is what we need.

I think one question would be is can he handle a 250+carry work load. I think the most he carried in a season was 160. But he was splitting time and we all know about this year.

I know he appears to translate better to a 3-4 and can totally see why you and others would say that.

I just really believe in this dude, I think he'll find a way to be a really good player regardless of system.

Why couldn't he?

Because he didn't in college?

He carried 166 times in 2009 which was the most
he has carried. 88 times in 2012, 149 times in 2011, and 126 times in 2010.

I'm not trying to bash one of your guys, I just wondered how we would handle 278 carries in a season like BJGE did this year.
If they carried the load in college and stayed productive through the season is just one of the things I look at.

Due to injuries, a suspension, and splitting time he never really got the opportunity but that doesn't mean he can't.

How many times had Ellis carried the ball 278 times prior to last season?

When we signed Ellis as more of a committee back not a "feature back" , but he did have 220 carries including the postseason in 2011 and 247 in 2010. In college he and back to back 230 carry seasons. I also believe that when was signed it was in question if he could handle being a feature back.

You said Micheal would be the feature guy, and he probably could be, he just never has had a lot of carries in a season to go off of. I guess he's rested.

I still think he is a good RB though. I guess my question is why do you think he could be a feature guy?

I like him and wouldnt be upset if we took him. He would definitely add a lot to the run game. He could very well turn out to be a total beast honestly, and I dont think the potential attitude issues would show up here, not with the chemistry and leadership we have now. I doubt he is as bad as they make it sound anyway. One or two of the draft sites mentioned that Sumlin put him in the dog house for attitude issues. I'm wiling to consider that there could be some contributing factors. Eager youth, new coaching staff, system, etc. Either way, I'd hate to see the Stealers get him.
