But would he be as great in todays NFL? you need to make sure you bring back a player that fits well to how the NFL has evolved over the past 30 years.

Dillon without a doubt.

Well seems I'm late to the show for this poll. I have to agree with what alot of ppl have to say.

It was a tough choice for me. Munoz, best LT ever to play the game. Boomer in his hay day was beastly. He was very very good at running the PA, and the hurry up O. Imagine C. Johnson across from Green.... mmm would be nice. Would love to have Big Bad Dave Fulcher back playing safety!!

I could go on an on. But in the end the position that would help THIS team the most would have to be RB. Defense we are good at.. WR not bad... O line will get the job done. And Dalton can carry the load. I truely think this team is a elite RB from being a top contender.

Now I loved watching Corey Dillion run over ppl back in his day and he is the best back to ever play for this team, but I voted for James Brooks. Brooks style fits THIS team better I think. Dillion was a smash mouth runner and damn good. Brooks was a guy that was quick and had great hands out of the backfield.

Loved watching both Dillion and Brooks play but I have to go with Brooks for this team.

Brooks had better hands, but lets not act as if Dillon wasn't quick. He wasn't just a bruiser. The dude has one of the longest runs in NFL history (96 yards).

Here's a good highlight video from his college days. I forgot how great his COD skills were. Not to mention he had the most wicked stiff arm I've ever seen.

He's a tough SOB, and still is today a monster about working out. Coming back from that injury in one offseason, craziness. Would give the entire team one hell of a tough mentality.

The man led his team in tackles as a nose tackle... for four straight years!

-
-

"We had a fight in practice Wednesday, always encouraging this time of week," Cincinnati coach Sam Wyche said. "Krumrie and Brian Blados. It`s always Krumrie and somebody."

It livens things up.

"You never know who`s going to be in the fight with Krumrie,"

quarterback Boomer Esiason said.

"Just seeing if the team is ready," Krumrie said. "Everybody was excited after that. It was a lover`s quarrel."

-
-

Cincinnati strength and conditioning coach, Kim Wood, says of Krumrie:

"He`s the strongest man in football. Bar none. He`s a simple, strong, brutal man. `The Creature` lives."

"He played with two dislocated thumbs this year," Wyche said.

Krumrie popped three dislocated fingers into place once without missing a play. If he came out, some No. 1 draft choice might come in.

Good post. I often talk about how I truely believe if Krumrie don't get hurt in the SB, we woulda won. He made that much difference!! Dude was beast!!

For THIS team though (there are so many who I would love to have back playing for us in their prime), but going with what we have NOW and being able to only add 1 person I truely think RB would be the best move we could make to put us over the hump.

Don't get me wrong. I know Dillion was quick as well, and I loved watching Dillion play.

For me though Brooks is the style of runner I think fits this team better. Besides Brooks is also what made me fall in love with this team so many years ago. He will always be my favorite player of all time.

Great song too.

Again, he never got passes, but few remember how friggin' great he was at receiving; could have been a WR.

Yup. He had 77 catches from '01-02, but his reception totals were hurt by the fact that he played with QBs like Akili and Scott Mitchell for a couple years.

His best QBs were Blake in '99 and Kitna from '01-03

I (somewhat reluctantly) chose James Brooks...but voting against Anthony Munoz just feels like Bengals blasphemy.

But Brooks multi-faceted talents both running and catching the ball haven't been seen here since. (Though for a brief 1/2 season maybe, Chris Perry was comparable.) Brooks was also a good blocker and blitz picker upper, esp. for his size.

You can tell the pollster here is a relative youngster though. No love for guys like Bill Bergey? Mike Reid? Tommy Casanova? Lemar Parrish? Issac Curtis?

I wanted to pick Dillon, I really did but I had to pick the pre-injury Palmer because I still sometimes can only think of what could have been

First of all, youre all doing it wrong. You dont use it to go back and bring someone to the present. You use it to go back and correct mistakes. If there was a time machine I would go back and:

1. Tell them to draft Jerry Rice instead of Eddie Brown.
2. Go back to 1999 and tell them to take Ditka's offer for all his draft picks instead of drafting Akili Smith.
3. Tell them to draft Tom Brady in the 5th round.
4. Tell Paul Brown not to leave the team to Mike Brown. Or at least not without requiring him to hire a GM and stay out of the football decision making process.

Hard question, but I had to look at what position would make the biggest impact so I chose Dillon. Fulcher would be great to have in the middle and to teach out young players, and Munoz is just awesome...

Although I agree with everything Beaker commented on also...^^^^^^

If that's the case, I would also go back and hire Bill Walsh instead of Forest Gregg, and Bill Cowher instead of Dave Shula. We'd be an epic dynasty with all these moves.
