I really expectde the Ravens to play better. Divisional games are usually always a toss up in when the team is having a down year...let alone when they are playing well. So for the Ravens offense to be so flat and the Steelers defense to hold them to 200 total yards was a surprise.

Given that *IF* Ben had played the Steelers probably would have won but not necessarily. I'm just basing that on how bad Leftwich really is no matter how much Tomlin thinks of him.

As an aficionado of really fine cheese sandwiches. This board serves some of the finestmelts in the NFL. Tomlin is stupid, Wallace isn't worth the money, Leftwich, Mendenhall, Harrison, Foote, Polamalu all have to go next year. Rothlesburger is too fragile. They should have played Batch - amazing just stunningly amazing.

Looking at how the game played out, if you can't at least admit the Steelers "could have" won that game had Ben played, rather than "should have", then you are an epic homer that does what homers do...kid themselves.

Had the ravens destroyed the Steelers, then I would be a homer to suggest the Steelers would have won with Ben...get it?

The Ravens had a better record going in and swept the Steelers last year,so yeah,in my mind they would be the favorites. You also have to factor in that the Steelers were going into that game off a short week after ekeing out an OT win over the Chiefs on Monday Night. It's a division game,and obviously the two teams have to step up and play,but on paper,that's advantage Ravens. Better record + Full week to prepare > Homefield advantage.

But the trump could be the defense. There is speculation that Ben may play the next game against the Ravens, if so there could be a split between us. Even with Batch I think our chances of beating them are better than they were with Lefty. Lefty played a decent game, but should have been pulled. Had Tomlin done that, Batch may have won the game, but playing Batch would have been to great a risk. I think Tomlin made the right call keeping Lefty in.
