I like the sounds of him. Pretty impressive he beat out Nick Foles for the starting job at one point.

I like Watson, but I have a sneaking suspicion that he's going to climb the draft boards quick if he has a good combine. I expect this to happen.

No thanks on Campbell, another guy who can never stay healthy.

Didn't know the market for average punters was so exorbitant.
Or backup, expendable DT's. Lacy in the first? If we get Jones, why keep Cook? Ok, guess I'll play. Walter Stewart, Tyrann Mathieu, Sign Welker. Boom.

I don't know if we would get to a championship with these moves next year but I can see us competing in the playoffs. Nicely done. Love first three picks.
Only criticism is 3rd rd pick. I don't have faith in that LB corp you provided. Not sure who we could go for at 3rd rd but I think we should go that way. (Would have said Chase Thomas before yesterday.) |

I think Sims is a key piece of our D. We would be lucky to get him back at that amount. Fanene and Rucker got bigger contracts than that. I think we will have some competition resigning him this year. When its all said and done I don't think we will see a first round without a HB selected. We are not going to have the choice of any HB we want at 37. I think Lacy is the best one and I think a guy who could be the rare feature back is worth it. A dominant ground game brings our offense to another level. Cook stays as a veteran backup at C and G. He could be on the bubble though and would allow more money for the Geno Atkins savings fund. If Robinson improves from year 1 to 2 like Boling Cook is more likely to be a cap casualty. I wish Walter Stewart was an option. He has some type of spine condition and will not play football again. I'd definitely take Tyrann. Welker is a big time player for the Patriots, but I wouldn't pay big money for a 31 year old 5'9" WR. I think his end will be abrupt. |

Howard was our best LB. If we get him back at 100% he is a huge upgrade. If he doesn't return to form then we have a problem. IMO Wheeler is the best free agent SAM available and would be another huge upgrade. Replacing Maualuga with Burfict is another upgrade. All around I think we get enormously better with our starters. I think Lemur could start. He would be a solid backup. Moch and Maybin give us massive potential to work with and big bodies for ST. IMO our starters would be better and Moch/Maybin>Rey/Skuta Wouldn't hurt my feelings if Skuta stuck over Moch or Maybin. |

Walter Stewart IS an option. He's been cleared to participate in the combine. I was going to make a post about it as I heard him in an interview last week, but there was no link to any recent news clearing him.
But, straight from the horse's mouth, he say's he's cleared.

http://bearcatsnation.com/2012/12/04...r-nfl-combine/ Obviously medicals will be the biggest event for him at the combine. He was one of my favorite prospects before this injury scare. Despite only playing 5 games he was still voted All Big East second team by the coaches. If we ended up landing Tyrann and Stewart in the sixth with the others in my mock. WOW!!!!! Hopefully we get a decently early comp pick. I thought Stewart was a lock to go before the 4th round before the injury scare. I don't know what to think now. I'm sure the spine concern will scare some teams off. But if he is healthy I don't know how long he will last. |
