Nice job today by Rey not stepping up after being called out by Lewis.
Last TD was his fault. I simply don't think he knows what to do on many game situations... |

Why doesn't Rey just guard someone instead of standing in open space?..I would love it if he'd at least make an attempt to guard someone rather than do nothing and look like he's doing something. And your right, that last TD was his fault and i could tell Burfict wanted to rip his *** for not guarding him but Burfict felt like he didn't have the seniority to do that.

Re: Maualuga
I think the OP was referring to the last TD being his fault because on the play that ate up the most yardage, Rey was busy tackling Newman who was trying to tackle the WR who caught the ball.
Tackling teammates generally leads to some YAC. |

Andy actually played pretty well, but Manning just turned it on at the end

MauLOLuga
But seriously, I don't think he play TERRIBLE tonight, but he certainly didn't play well. He bit on quite a few PA plays, and missed a few tackles as well. Besides that, he was usually around the ball. |

Rey gets blocked or falls down on about every run play. Now on a pass play he usually just stands in one spot then after the ball is thrown he usually misses the tackle. The last touchdown was definitely his fault. I wish they would just blitz him every time because he has no idea what pass coverage is. I could already see Burfict trying to do rey's job out there and make the calls and take over the D. Rey needs to be benched, if you cant see that, I really dont know what bengals games you are watching.

Rey is actually pretty stout against the run. Terrible in coverage though.

Maualuga is WORTHLESS against the run. STOUT?!?!?!
What the heck game were you watching? He NEVER takes a proper angle, nor fills quickly, nor sheds blocks.... HE IS AWFUL IN ALL FACETS OF THE GAME. Rey Maualuga, if you're reading this--> GET YOUR BUTT IN GEAR AND START MANNING UP AND PLAY LIKE YOU'VE GOT A PAIR. YOU ARE CLUELESS OUT THERE..... |

No, the last play was his fault because the guy who caught the TD caught it where Maualuga should have been in pass coverage. He bit on the out rather than do his responsibility.
THIS PROVES HE DOESN"T KNOW WHAT HE'S DOING..... |

It's not Rey Maualuga fault for our lost.In fact it's not even our Players fault we lost the game today at all. Most of the Players on this team came from winning university. It's the owner, coaches and Bengals franchise fault.Bengals Franchise CURSED!

So the coaches miss tackles, don't block, miss kicks, drop passes, throw interceptions, fail to get open? I'm pretty sure they don't but if you pay attention to what people are saying on these forums you will see that not one person in the organization is being sparred from criticism (even the towel boys) other than AJ and even he has made some mistakes. The team has some top level NFL players but we still don't have a good team.

But if this is being put solely on the players, who's responsible for selecting these players and putting them on the field? Then, when said players can't do their jobs, are still allowed to start? Mike Brown refuses to go after high dollar free agents for needs Marvin Lewis can't gameplan Jay Gruden isn't creative enough Mike Zimmer can't put together a consistently strong defense Then there the RB coach, the Oline coach, the TE coach, and the DB coach. No matter what, it always comes back to the coaches. If bad players are playing it's the coaches fault, period. |

Rey Maualuga misses lots of tackles. If he ever went off a diving board he might miss the water.

when your playing linebacker at so cal with cushing and matthews as the other two linebackers, looking good is easy! when your playing linebacker with the bengals and the responsibility of being outstanding falls on you, and you are just below average, this is what you get. you can't call anybody else out when you are one of the weakest links on defense! i think the lewis effect has rubbed off on gruden and zimmer, and they have been pulled down to his level and bengalized. so here goes another decade of mediocrity, ruining outstanding young players with potential!
