I was introduced to "salo" by my Russian friends from the chess club. The best salo I had was from a place called Dacha, near NYU. But it no longer exists as of November 2012. The way they prepared it made it taste like bacon fat butter. Sooooooooooooo GUUUUUUUUUD!!!

If you come to New York City, gimmie a holler and we can go to Brighton Beach (all-Russian area) in Brooklyn and sample the fare. It is heavy. And a 1 hour train ride from the city.

I don't know what I'm gonna do when I fully convert to Judaism. Although, most can eat shellfish outside of a kosher home. So, I'd just have to eat it somewhere else.
