you are incorrect...we win this week and steelers lose, we can just beat steelers next week and will eliminate steelers from playoff picture ... also we beat eagles but lose to steelers we can still get in if steelers lose to dallas and cleveland.. so this game has importance |

No you are incorrect. We hold our OWN destiny by beating the Steelers and Ravens and losing to the Eagles!!!! Sit back and let it soak. We control our own destiny for the 6th spot even if we lose to the Eagles. What we lose out is the Division and possibly the 5th spot if we lose to the Eagles.

You mean when everyone thought last year's Raven game was important and we lost it and we found our way into the playoffs only to be blown out by Houston. ![]() Before last week's loss to Dallas I knew that game meant nothing in terms of getting into the playoffs. The same can be said of this week's game with the Eagles. Some people will have a pity party if we lose to the Eagles, but after a couple of days realize we can still make the playoffs with wins over the Steelers and Ravens.

Yes, if we finish with the same record with Pitt and even the Jets we have the tie breaker in our favor!!!! 9-7 with a win over the Steelers and Ravens gets us in!!!! If the colts lose three in a row. They play Houston twice, which is why Houston losing to the Patriots was important!!!! If Pitt, Cincy, Indy and the Jets all finish 9-7 then.... 5th spot Cincy 6th spot Jets And Ron Mexico would have a heart attack!!! ![]()

Not true
We can finish 9-7, lose to baltimore, then lose the spot due to division record. edit: so we go WWL Pitt goes WLW and Jets do something that doesn't get them to 9. Pitt is in, we are out. Last edited by basballguy; 12-12-2012 at 01:50 PM. |

I reserved my day off on friday.
The game is 2am to 5am in Europe. I hope it will be worth the day off !

[quote=bradfritz21;2721385]We need to be able to prepare in a shortened period of time and we need to be able to perform on the big stage to finally be considered a legitimate team, so I'm ok with it. In fact, I'm actually happy with it because all eyes are on us and it's a proving ground for this team and for this franchise as a whole to show the world that we're here.
I love that we're the only team on because the entire football world will be watching. I do think that our small medical staff and training equipment make this harder on us than for other teams, but this is something that we need to be able to overcome because it's not changing, so this is big. We need to man-up and show up for this game with fire in our hearts I have doubts they will be able to do it. So many times these coaches have failed to get the players mentally ready for a big-show game. Sorry but I have no confidence in Marvin Lewis and very little in his Coordinators. I really hope it will be different this time. ![]() |

I have zero confidence in our ability to beat the Steelers if Big Jen is playing at 85% of his capacity or better. He will kill us by scrambling and hitting guys on extended crossing routes.
I'm not at all saying they can't beat them, I just don't see them bringing their A-game and closing the deal.

No we didn't.
Contrary to what the score tells you, the Bengals did not win that game. The Eagles lost it. There is a big difference. |

wait for it....... wait for it..... The Oakland Raiders!!! Carson Palmer, the gift that keeps on giving! None of this matters without beating pittsburg head to head, though. The only other scenario (leaving the Jets out, because I simply don't see them running the table) is the Colts lose both their games to the Texans and also lose to the Cheifs (in KC). As unlikely as the Cheifs game would sound, the Colts have to travel to Houston then travel to KC. Back to back road games are never easy. And the Cheifs have a very good RB, which is the weakness of the Colts defense. Quinn is playing much better than Kassel, also. So, although I would much rather just beat pissburg in 9 days, there is that one chance that the Colts lose out and lose the tiebreaker to the Bengals at 9-7. Of course, the Bengals would have to beat Balt in week 17, but they will likely be resting starters as they won't be able to change their seeding.

I saw the Eagles receiver holding the ball like a loaf of bread on the first drive. I saw the worst underthrow I've ever seen by Nick Foles. I saw the Eagles RB completely s*** his pants and flat out drop the ball when Pat Sims came near him. I saw a lineman on the Eagles kick return team choke and drop the ball. I want to give the Bengals most of the credit for the win but that would be unrealistic. If they play that poorly against just about any other team, they will lose and lose bad. |
