Doug Martin 4.5 and Alfred Morris 4.67 sure had good years. And they don't have the speed of Lamar Miller and Chris Rainey who had lousy years.

Just because a guy is fast doesn't make him better. A well rounded HB has got to be tough, be able to break tackles, be able to pass block, catch, and preferably have good size. Lacy has it all.

If Lacy runs a 4.5 like many suspect he has plenty of speed.

Arian Foster ran a 4.69 at his pro day. Does he no have the speed to run outside the tackles in the NFL?
Great post, I agree too many people worry about awesome stright line speed and most of those guys are 170 to 190 lbs. and can't take a hit so they have a short shelf life or can be a liability when asked to block in pass protection getting the QB killed as a result.

If Lacey runs a 4.5, he will be gone in the first round no doubt in my mind.

Not sure why so many are down on DHB. You guys do know he's turned his career around a bit, right?

He did put up 975 yards in Hue's offense in 2011. He'd probably restructure and add years to his contract if traded.

4. Draft a speed back high [ x ]
5. Draft a SS high [ x ]
6. Drop Lawson, draft a replacement [ x ]
7. Draft a center and let him battle with Cook & Robinson [ ]
8. Let Clements go [ x ]
9. Bring back Andre Smith [ x ]
10. Bring back MJ (as long as he doesn't demand elite money) [ x ]

These things need to happen to take the next step

Can't make everyone happy I guess. I'm sure we could do some damage with him as a #2. I think Hue should be helping Jay call plays. His offense in Oakland worked to the strengths of their team.
