Awesome Ken Anderson and Isaac Curtis Video

What you're about to see is some of the greatest film in Bengals history. For those of you who appreciate the thing of beauty that is the combination of Andy Dalton and AJ Green or you have fading memories of the great chemistry between Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson, I found this video of the all-time best Cincinnati quarterback and wide receiver combination: Ken Anderson and Isaac Curtis.

Both of these men should be in the Hall of Fame.

Great stuff! The real #85. And the NFL had to change rules just to try to play him. Nothing like Ike in Bengal history.

Even with Curtis and Anderson, this team, like the league, was still very conservative, running first and often. It meant that when the Bengals really needed a big play they went to him, the teams we played knew it, and he consistently came through with huge plays. Did you see how many times he was beating double coverage in those highlights?

Just flipping the ball over his shoulder after some amazing touchdown catch was such a sense of cool. I was lucky enough to be in the stadium when Ike made those great plays. This is the standard for this franchise receivers. Let's see if anyone can live up to it.

I like Andy Dalton, but watching Anderson throw the deep ball brings up the one issue I have with Andy's game.

Dalton is very good at getting throws out quickly, but he never seems to throw the deep ball in rhythm. Anderson hit the last step of his drop and let it fly. Sometimes the way Dalton throws the deep ball, it's almost like an after thought.

Love the video though.

One thing I want people to notice in the video -- besides what gifted men Ken Anderson and Isaac Curtis were -- is the pass protection: It's simply awesome.

Agreed. Dalton's long passes are not good. With a receiver like Green, we need Jeff Blake back. We'd either get 4 long TD passes a game, or rush for 200 yards a game because the secondary is so far off the ball.

If Dalton doesn't get this fixed, it could cost AJ Green the Hall of Fame.

I was at most of the home games. The one that sticks out is the Pitt-Cincy clip. It was a Monday nighter. I think the bengals lost 7-3. It was 50 degrees during the day and it started snowing at lickoff, it was a blizzard. Harris destroyed us.

I wish Dalton was as accurate as Anderson was with the ball.
I also wish Greens hands were as good as Curtis' hands, and that he was as fast as Curtis.

How accurate was Anderson in his second year? I think i'll give Andy a couple more years before I conclude anything about him relative to Ken Anderson.

I like the way the original #14 stepped into his throws. He also had a clean pocket in many of these highlights. These highlights are a thing of beauty. Hopefully Dalton will watch and learn.

His trademark! We were all doing the simple yet cool behind the right shoulder spike. And by the way, those were two of the longest legs I've ever seen attached to a receiver. Speed and grace and great hands!
