Well, the Pittsburgh Refs are kicking into high gear. Steelers up 24-17, and they're callng every penalty they can on Dallas. One of them on Livings!! Livings kills us even when he's not here.

They need to go ahead and change the Refs uniforms to yellow and black stripes.

Steelers win today and we HAVE to beat both Pitt and Balt

They lose (and as long as Jets lose 1 game) we can afford a loss to Balt
Like I said, which is the sweetest way to get in. Since this is a hypothetical 'how do I want us to make it' question, ill take the sweetest way to do it. Either scenario I mentioned had us getting in, so what would it matter? Nobody's picking a scenario where we dont get in.

I was running with a 'would you rather win the Superbowl 59-0 or win it on the final play' kinda thing.

I just came back here to post this. No penalties on the Steelers today. Plenty of flags on Dallas.

Why....oh why do I read these types of threads. No matter, I enjoyed watching the Cowboys beat the stealers.

No. We absolutely want Pitt, Baltimore, and Indy to lose. And throw in Cleveland for good measure. All of that did happen. But it'll mean nothing if we lose either of the next two games.
GO STRIPES!!!

I would, under no circumstance, ever root for the steelers to win. Never.

What if it was the last game of the year. Pittsburgh is out of the playoff race and the Bengals need the Steelers to beat someone in order for the Bengals to get a playoff spot?

I want to give ourselves the most slim mathematical chance imaginable of making the playoffs, and then for us to make the playoffs.

Oh wait, no. I want to win every single game we play no matter what the situation is. And i want the Steelers, Ravens and Browns to lose every single game they play.

Dont get me wrong, was damn happy when the Cowboys picked that one off in OT

Not like I was rooting for them to win , just saying if you went with the most dramatic way we could get in, it would've been with a Steelers win today.

Glad it didn't happen though!

Bengals beat pitt and baltimore loses to NYG. Then, for the AFC North, Bengals beat Baltimore in Cincy in final week of the season.

Texans 1 seed, Broncos 2 seed, Pats 3 seed, Bengals 4 seed, Colts 5 seed, Ratbirds 6 seed.

Week 1 of AFC playoffs: Rats lose to Pats, Colts lose to Bengals

Week 2 of AFC Playoffs: Bengals beat Texans, Broncos beat Pats

Week 3 of AFC Playoffs: Bengals beat Broncos

I know, I know. Homer picks. Fine. But that is what I could see happening. The toughest one to swallow is the Bengals beating Denver in Denver, but their running game is not nearly as effective as the Bengals. They have been putting it all on Manning's arm. And he has been great. But it will also be week 20 of the NFL season and it will be pretty damn cold in Denver. One of Manning's only weaknesses has been playing outside the dome when the weather turned.

And as scared as everyone may be about the pittsburg game, I really like the extra time to prepare and the potential to finally end their season while propelling the Bengals forward.

A reasonable back up plan is to hope the Colts lose out (and the Jets lose one more) and the Rats have nothing to play for week 17, but facing a Cheifs team that was just shut out by the Raiders doesn't look too tough for the Colts.

That little machine makes it easy, but basically we need to beat the Steelers and Ravens to guarantee that we're in.
You still have to account for the Jets. They only have to lose once in the next three to be eliminated, but if your scenario plays out, a 9-7 Jets teams takes the spot.
