The total lack of a running game was the only thing that disturbed me, of course, it was Pittsburgh. Maybe as John Connor gets more reps, he'll become a better lead back. He was a beast at UK at the FB position. He is not afraid of contact. I guess we'll see. But, like you say, as long as we can spell the defense, score some, and the special teams keep stepping up like they have been (minus the holding penalty on Jones' runback....we'll be around at the end of any game.

I completely agree, and this is coming from a couple of folks that usually criticize the living crap out of this team. (Me and neek)
I think it is time to enjoy the victory this week and worry about playoff opponents next week.

What you chose to read as a "hate-mongering" and "we aren't good enough" mentality, was actually meant as a "we have potential" and "our expectations should be higher for us to make a deep playoff run" thought process. I'm sorry if that offends you, but I want to see the team play up to the level that I know we can. We have seen too many great things from our young guys to be happy when they regress. They should have a few more years of continually getting better.

Maybe you personally aren't doing all those things but many, many are and that's what those on my side of this arguement are talking about. |

Here, however, no one other than yourself (in apparent parody) has said anything negative about an individual player or criticized the front office. This has been a rare occurance in these threads, to be sure, but this marks the second time in this thread that you have imagined some slight to be angry about.

Go ahead and show me where anyone in this thread "slammed our guys as failures" or said "AD *****. Offesne *****. Coaches ****. BJGE *****. AJ is great but everyone else *****.", I welcome the correction. By the way, there is an important distinction between labeling someone as a failure and pointing out that they failed to complete a task.

good post. while the team still needs criticism, we need to just soak up the fact that we just beat the steelers at home to clinch a playoff berth and eliminate them from contention.

Very good point. It seems that some feel our new state of success is so fragile that any criticism takes away from it, instead of being a tool to help build on it.

yes they definitely need criticism, our offense is absolutely anemic at times. i'm scared about playing NE in foxboro. as great as our defense is, brady will almost always get his points. however, the giants recipe of just having a great d-line to disrupt the hell out of him all day is something that I think our boys have a chance of doing as well.
