Does anyone else sense a trap game coming on with some letdown from the Cowboys game mixed in? Is it possible the players and coaches might take this game too lightly and look past Thursday night to next week against the Steelers? I hope I'm wrong and the Bengals go into their stadium and blow the doors off the Eagles.
Wonder how many trap game threads we can get in a season.

Haha...that's the thing:

We lose some games and we're never going to win again.

We win some games against bottom dwellers and the Giants and we're going to never lose again and win the Super Bowl.

The reality is that this is a young team that is 2-3 players away from being a serious contender. We may have those guys on the roster and they may just need to develop. We're going to win some and lose some in the process.

Unfortunately, (or fortunately for the people who like 9-7) this team is about the same as it was last year.

Theres no trap game at this point, we have to win out to make the playoffs. If we don't its another year in the books. If this team can't get the job and win out to make the playoffs then they have no business being there because they will be one and done like so many years past.

There's the problem. It's that 17th that always seems to get us.

How many times have we been fed that line over the last 10 yrs? Every 3-4 yrs this team goes into rebuilding mode and the Groundhog movie starts over again.

Philly looked pretty good against TB yesterday...also the visiting teams have a terrible record on Thursday night games, so I am kind of worried about this game.

This post isn't complete without a trap meme.

Oh...we're not rebuilding. We're just not elite yet.

The key is to re-sign MJ, Andre Smith, and guys like that and let guys like Kirkpatrick improve. We do need to sign 1-2 impact free agents also.

I am talking about the physical stamina of the players that are on on the field. I don't think that Chip and his crew know how to physically develop players in general much less get them ready for this quick turnaround.

When I watch the Bengals, they seem to consistently wilt down the stretch in the second half and especially in the 4th quarter, but they have had large enough leads that they have been able to hang on and win.

It happened yesterday as well. But, if the dropped passes by AJ, Gruden's forgetting that we were running wild on them, and the dropped interceptions had not occured, that would have allowed the routine 4th quarter collapse to go unnoticed, but it didn't.

Now they have a short week and a road game in Philadelphia. If we play like we have and get up early, maybe the hatred that will fly from the stands at the home team will get the Eagles to tuck their tails. We shall see.
