I wouldn't consider him in the 3rd unless he just comes out and kills it at the combine.

He hasn't played football in a year, and that IMO is a bigger concern than his off-field issues.

And how is comparing a WR that in his prime had more receptions than anyone on our team this year outside of AJ, to a CB coming out of college any kind of similar?

Compare apples to apples if your going to come up with something.

There are plenty of "only return men" in the NFL, such as Trindon Holiday and others but those guys weren't nearly as talented in college as Tyrann was. I am not saying spending a 1st round pick on this kid, but to say he is a primary returner is just stupid.

Now I'm not claiming to be an expert in evaluating draft prosepects but I was not impressed by this kids cover skills. When he started getting all the hype as Brent Musberger drolled all over him, even more than he did AJ McCarron's girlfriend, I started focusing in on him when watching LSU games. I would say I probably watched 6 full LSU games in 2011 and this kid maybe had averge covereage skills to go along with being undersized. He benefited more from having a catchy nickname and from being in such a loaded defense and secondary. I will give him credit that he caused a lot of fumbles and was a nice playmaker when he got the ball in his hands, but its not enough to make up for his lack of coverage skills, lack of size and off field issues. I'll pass, unless we sign him as an undrafted FA

I'm not even reading the thread. My response is to the thread title.

No, and not in any round.

It's hardly stupid. I've watched him play enough to know that his PRIMARY position will be as a returner, just like Cribbs and Hester. I'm not saying that he can't do more, but he have the most value as a returner.

Gresham missed a year...I think Gronk did too....

Based on the year Janoris Jenkins (the I wouldn't touch him CB from last year) had last year, I think he'll go 1/2 round lower than his ranking. He probably has more riding on the combine than almost any other player in the draft.

Treat Tyrann Mathieu like Vontaze Burfict: Nab him if he goes undrafted. That way there is no risk and no wasting of a pick on him.

Lol this is funny. So you have watched the kid enough to know that he is primarily a returner but we aren't even at the combine or anything else yet.

Come on man, this is crazy.
