I tried to plug in as many holes as possible with just the draft with the picks staying in their original slots.
1 Eric Reid * S 6'2" 212 LSU – arguably the best Safety in the draft. He is a team captain, an All American, and did very well in college. Crocker had to come in to get us into the right alignments. Reid should have no issue with that. ![]() 2a Giovani Bernard * RB 5'10" 205 North Carolina – we need a change of pace back. Bernard can handle that role, possibly be an every down back and help with returns. ![]() 2b Travis Frederick * OC 6'4" 338 Wisconsin – Cook stinks. Robinson is nice, but I like him even more as a back-up. Frederick is a wide load and a day 1 starter. ![]() 3 Sean Porter OLB 6'2" 230 Texas A&M – the cover capable WILL that the team needs. Day 1 starter with Burfict in the middle. ![]() 4 Travis Kelce TE 6'5" 260 Cincinnati – Gresham is a 1st round bust (not a total bust). The only question is when to unload him, before or after the draft. Of course we will hang on to him. Kelce does not have a whole lot of starting experience, but he did a lot with what he had. I am looking forward to seeing his measurables because he looks fast for his size. ![]() 5 James Gayle * DE 6'3" 269 Virginia Tech – Developmental DE. I wish we could grab one earlier, but I thought fixing the middle of the line was more important. ![]() 6a Aaron Mellette WR 6'2¾" 218 Elon – small school prospect who would be working for the backup possession guy behind Sanu. ![]() 6b Knile Davis * RB 6'0" 220 Arkansas – if he can recover from his injuries, he is a home run, because he has 1st / 2nd round talent. ![]()

Pretty decent. Porter could actually play SAM for us too, as he was an OLB in a 3-4 prior to this year and could rush the passer as well. Either way, Porter as one of our OLBs would be great.
Since you say Porter as our WILL and Burfict to MIKE, who at SAM? |

Like it all save Gio. Like Gio but don't think we need to go that high for RB. Would rather address LB that high.

Those are my favorite kind of highlights because they show all the plays. And as expected, he has nothing to do with 1/2 of them. He plays a lot of zone coverage and swarms to the ball. Anyway, his very 1st play is a TFL. He also gets an interception. A QB hit and multiple pressures. He also had multiple stops. A pretty good day. There was one bad whiff on a play along the sidelines in traffic. I liked the tape. He swarms and wraps, plays a lot of coverage.

A Porter-Burfict-Howard starting LB corp sure sounds like a vast upgrade to me. |

If Bernard can be an every down back, I'm for this. A complimentary back or change of pace back.... than no.

Love it. Not as big on Reid as others, but not a big one if he's a leader.
Why draft a te when we have another one on the roster...or do people not think Charles can cut it with Jermaine as backup?

I would have no problems if we used Bernard how Jacksonville used MJD his first couple years, which was splitting with Fred Taylor until Taylor became a FA. Then MJD took over the primary role. We could do the same with Bernard, and have him become our primary RB once BJGE is a FA in two years. |

No we don't think Gresham can cut it as the #1 and he will walk.

1. Eric Reid is more of the same at S. Questionable tackling, has had poor season.
2. Gio is fine here. Injury concerns. 2. Good pick 3. Meh. Hasn't been that good since moving out of the 3-4 rush OLB spot. 4. Way too early for Kelce. 5. Another DE who wont produce much. Fits the current group. 6. Another depth WR we don't need. 6. Another RB who can't stay healthy. Looks like a Bengals draft.
