Meh....this team will go on without him. His production has dropped tremendously and people should be freaking out about him getting replace just like they were with Armon Binns. Still a playmaker.....he just isn't making many plays.

Hawkins will be missed, because of his speed. But I don't think that will decide the game for the offense.

Green will be going against Flowers, a very underrated CB. That will be a good matchup to watch. Obviously, we all would like to see Sanu continue to progress, heck, I loved him coming out of college. But let's be realistic with him for a bit and not compare him to Housh. Housh was good for a few years, but that was all he did.

If the Bengals HAVE to rely on Whalen to win this game, they will lose. Whalen just isn't that good. I remember everyone talking about his hands and route running, but from what I have seen from his playing time in the NFL, it really isn't that great.

Expect the TEs to be the X factor in this game. Gresham has been having a hot streak lately, and hopefully will continue that this week.

Whalen is very good.

Every game he's seen significant time, he's been our best or second best receiver. Hands of glue (that was a PD, NOT a drop), and great routes.

Him not being a teams beast is the reason why he's not dressed. If he wasn't good, they would've cut him, period.

Actually, he's got a 57% reception rate, but you are correct that it is better than Tate (44%), but not better than Binns (62%) or Hawkins (64%),.

Just saying that the guy doesn't have clutch hands and the TE's and RB's are better receiving options, so why try and squeeze this guy in the lineup?

I'd take Whalen over Binns or Tate any day. At least if we're simply talking about reliability.

It's not like that at all. It's just that, in basically one game, he showed more than Tate has really shown all year. Why not go with the production? At least find out if it was just a fluke. It's not the number of catches, but also what he showed in making those catches--good hands, can catch in traffic, physicality, ability to get open.

Agreed. I have wanted Sanu to be the starter for a bit now, but not because I think he is better than TJ at this point or because he is a legit pro-bowler, it is because I see his ceiling being higher than any other receiver on the roster right now (other than AJ), and because I think he can produce more right now over anyone else, which is really the main reason,

I have to disagree. Sanu is going to be a very solid WR, but he has no where near the ceiling of Marvin Jones. Jones has the talent to be better than Chad Johnson was, we need to develop it. He is faster than Chad was, has great feet, and great hands. The thing that will make him better is, it will not be all about him, but it will be about winning and the team.

Sanu has the talent to be better than TJ was, but doesn't have the speed to a top notch #2.

That will be a great WR core in a couple of years. It takes the average WR 3-4 years to reach his potential, so AJ Green will improve, so will Marvin Jones, and Sanu.

Agreed. He's no #2. I hope we get to see Marvin Jones this week against the Raiders. I'd like to see us NOT draft a WR early in the draft, but we will unless Jones steps up. Nobody else has proven a thing this year. Let's hope he gets his chance.

As a UC fan I hated Sanu but I sure do love him now!

That injury on the opening kickoff against the Steelers stunk. I hated it. No one with a brain, uses their #2 WR on the kickoff team in the NFL.

If this kid shines, then this passing offense becomes very dangeous, right as we go into the playoff drive. I hope his knee is OK, and he explodes.

It will be so good to have a real #2 who is a threat. We have not had that since Henry, but we had so many other short comings, it could not make a difference.

I didn't think TJ was a real threat, he was a good possession WR. However he was never a real threat to take the top off a D and expose them to short passes, or the running game.
