And thats without thinking too hard. And yes, JJ.. it was stupid of the team not to tag him at the VERY least. |

Re: Possible Pick Ups In Free Agency
Quote:
1) Dillon - was mentally gone from the team. We could have franchised him. How do you think that would have worked out? However, I will give you Dillon. Fair enough? 2) Takeo - There is a difference in letting them go and asking them to leave. Spikes did not want to do things the way Marvin wanted them done. He was not pursued because they did not want him. 3) Steinbach - You do realize that this team had just signed Willie, Levi, and Bobbie to very large extensions correct? You do realize that Minnesota had just signed Hutchinson to LT money as a guard correct? You do realize that Steinbach and his agent were using the Hutchinson deal as a model correct? With the extensions for the other three linemen it was not feasible. By the way how did Steinbach do after landing that big contract with Cleveland? 4) Justin Smith - Are you saying that Smith played as well in Cincinnati as he has in San Fran? He has turned out to be a good system fit for the 3-4. We do not run the 3-4. Smith was a solid run playing DE. Nothing more while he was here. He certainly was not the pass rusher he was suppose to be coming out of Missouri. He was a solid player that made a lot of tackles against the run game. Who else you got?

Takeo simply wanted out, he wouldn't have agreed to any contract. Steinbach was the odd man out after Jones and Anderson got big contract extensions. Just couldn't afford him. Smith you could make an argument that more of an effort should've been made to keep him. Though from my understanding, he was massively underachieving here and wasn't worth what he ultimately got from the 49ers. If it were any other year, I think we would've tagged JJ. The lockout screwed a lot of stuff up. Either way, it's time to move on. |

Jennings would be my pick in free agency. AJ, Jennings, Sanu, Jones, and Hawkins - sounds like a great receiving corps. |

Bowe or Jennings would be an amazing pick up. Would open up the draft, and put a real threat opposite AJ that could free up the double and tripple teams AJ has been getting. I think WR in FA could be the biggest step for this team moving forward in the off season, just frees up the draft so much and also hopefully rejuvinates this offense and takes them to the next level.

Uh...hello. The last two years and three out of the last four don't count?
