A Woman Will Compete At A Regional Combine

Check this out: a woman's going to compete at the combine to try and get on an NFL team as a kicker:

The March 2-3 New Jersey regional will mark a first in the regional combine process: A female player will compete.

Lauren Silberman of New York City will participate as a kicker. A club soccer player at Wisconsin, Silberman has taken a different path than your average college kicker. She wrote a Master's thesis at MIT about how athletes use video games to enhance their own performance. She then founded a consulting company Double Play that helps athletes use video games for virtual training purposes.

This is insane. I think I remember the one girl at a college years ago that kicked on the team and then the coach got in trouble for sexist comments because she ****** at kicking, but this is insane.

I guess it's not that crazy because it's not like she's made the team, but it's crazy that she's even trying and that she might be good enough to make it.

How weird would it be, though? A woman walking around the locker room with a bunch of naked dudes. Kind of hypocritical because a guy would never be allowed to walk around a locker room with a bunch of naked women.

They'd give her her own dressing room, and then we'd have people crying about how she has the right to be with the team. It would eventually end up in the Supreme Court and be a topic of discussion where a bunch of people go, "Rabble, rabble rabble, rabble", at each other.

Really what guy wants to walk around a locker room filled with naked guys...

but she might have the skill to make a team but if she cant tackle a return guy she'll have a hard time making the final 53...

But its call they are letting her try.

I saw her kicking on NFL AM...not impressed. They must have been 25-30 yards max and looked like wounded ducks.

Even if she had great leg power to kick 50+, she'd likely get demolished since she can't be any more than 5'5" 140lbs. More power to her though.

My uncle has a song in that movie.
The scene where Scott Bakulla is driving in his jeep,between the corn rows. The radio is on and it's my uncle singing the song that's playing on the radio...no kidding.
Hot female kicker in that was Kathy Ireland if I remember correctly.

She's an MIT grad, if nothing else she could study the mechanics of the snap/hold and scientifically design a more perfect way to do it.

On the other hand, nothing like a dorky girl in the locker room...

If this girl is a kicker it means she will be on Kick offs..so if shes running down field and a big LB or somebody hits her hard..she is going to feel it pretty badly. I'm not saying women can't play football but I don't think a woman belongs on the field with all men. It's a nice thought but not realistic and if she did get signed I'd worry about her health.


Thank god she won't be.

Dont worry if she made it on a team... thats when they would eliminate kickoffs totally.

Pretty much this...I mean, even if she doesn't kick off, she is trying out for a sport where men twice her size get severely injured. She looks like she'd get taken off the field in a body bag...not the best image for the NFL.
