Marvin Jones has not been used correctly. He is speedster, force the CB back, by going deep on an early play. Then have Jones run comback patterns, till the CB adjust, then run a stop and go. After the CB is force to back off him, hit him for a few quick screens, or slants.
That should aslo be the game plan for AJ Green.
We need to use Gresham, Hawkins, and Charles over the middle, behind the LB.

The key to doing all of that is Trevor Robinson, the kid is better than Cook, even if Cook has the 5 year contract. Start Robinson, establish the run, while stretching the D early, then work the shorter routes when they adjust.
If the Steelers start to blitz, go with a screen to BJGE, or Herron. I think with his quickness Herron could make a screen a very dangerous play. Once he gets in the open, he has the wiggle to get by a player, or two BJGE could not.

BTW, about Herron. Hasn't he had 3 blocked punts in the last 2 weeks?

That is insane if true.

IMO there are 2 keys to winning this game against the Steelers. First, Get BJGE to run the ball effectively on offense. We win most of the time when our primary back goes for over 100 yards. Second, get Roethlisberger on the ground with our front four. If we accomplish those two things, we win!!!

I'm not really anxious to see what Grudan has planned, but how he adjusts the offense throughout the game. Personally I believe this is an area of weakness of the offense which is adjusting after the first couple of series and at halftime. There have been a few games like the Giants and the Redskins games where the adjustments looked good. Then quite a few other games like this last one where it was quite blahish imo. Grudan seems to do good gameplanning for the start of a game, but afterwards is where my concern lies.

Gronks a big boy wooo....physical to boot. Id have him blocking too. Im always amazed at the TEs who are GREAT blockers. Not like Gresham whose just very servicable...but I mean GREAT. I love watchng those guys get run plays called their way

Couldn't agree more Millz !

Still one of the biggest weaknesses of this coaching staff is adjusting to the other teams adjustments to our gameplan.

How many 3rd quarter points do we have all season ? It's not many We've got to get better at adjusting to their adjustments !

I agree with you 100 percent.

Run the ball and wear these guys out. Put ol' fat Jen on his arse.

The third key would be... Andy, if there is room to tuck and run... DO IT !!!!

The Steelers are going to be trying to cover Gresh and AJ. That's a given.

Open that field up in the middle and abuse them with your legs or BJGE/Hawk on some short passes.

Agree with one more thing to add, don't turn the ball over.

There is certainly a lot of Trevor Robinson praise and Kyle Cook bashing in this post. If I remember correctly, the first Bengals-Steelers game went completely downhill after Robinson entered the game. Now, that was his first live action I believe, but he certainly does not matchup well against Goliath NTs like Casey Hampton. Obviously Robinson has played far better as of late, and Cook just isn't fully recovered from his injury and in football shape.

I guess you have to weigh the options, but my guess is you will see Cook snapping the ball for a decent portion of the game.

More like The Bengals Strike Back. Hopefully there will be the sequel The Return to the Super Bowl.

Honestly, I think the X Factor in this game is going to be Hawkins.

The Steelers will bracket Green all night, and will most likely do many blitz's. I saw a lot of routes ran by Dallas' slot players and Hawkins could definitely do. And add in his speed and his ability to be a gadget player, Hawkins could help out.

He hasn't done well recently, and some of it is his fault. But also, I've seen Dalton miss him a few times, IE: Thursday night when Dalton has Hawkins open in the end zone but stared down Gresham.

There is a difference between blocking on PATs, and Kickoffs.

Like I said no other team does that.

No.
No other team uses a #2 WR on kickoffs.

Per play kickoffs are where the most serious injuries happen.
