I like Dion Jordan only if he is being put in as our SAM. He is too light to be a DE in a 4-3, and is best fit into a 3-4 OLB role. He has often been called into pass coverage since being a 3-4 OLB, and could be that Von Miller type of player that you mentioned. I also assume you mean as our SAM since you have us taking Hunt, who is a DE.

Unfortunately, you did not list positions of where you think they fit in for us, so it's hard to tell.

Do not like the Rodgers, Hunt, Tate or Dyer picks.
Hunt is a workout warrior with no real football production.
Rodgers and Dyer are nut jobs. Dyer isn't too bad where he is picked but RB needs to be addressed sooner. And Rodgers is way too early considering his past and WR isn't a top need right now. Unless Robert Woods or Justin Hunter fall to us in the 2nd, I cant see us going there again.

I would hate to see Dion Jordan wasted as a SAM. The guy is 6'7" and I think the Von Miller comparison isn't even close.

I highly doubt his listed weight of 243 is correct right now. He is easily over 250 with plenty of room to add on extra mass.

I don't think it would work out at all trying to put him at LB. But he has the prototype build for a 4-3 DE. I expect to see him try to bulk up for the combine and prove he is a DE.

I dunno about the weight. Oregon's official page also has him listed at 243, and ESPN has him at 241. He may be in the mid 240's, but I doubt 250+. I agree that he does have the right frame to grow into a true 4-3 DE, but he isn't there yet.

I think the claim that he would be wasted as a SAM is a bad claim. We have seen many times that Marvin has tried to mold a rushing DE into our SAM. Jordan has proven that he is not terrible in pass coverage. While his best asset is pass rush, there is no reason that he cannot do that from the SAM position. We just have no good candidates to do it right now. I would not put it past Marvin trying (yet again) to mold a player like Jordan into a SAM.

It has become obvious sometimes painfully obvious that Zimmer wants to be able to get pressure with only 4. I don't have the numbers but it would seem to me we have to be one of the least blitzing teams in the league. And when we do blitz its not like we only use the SAM its usually pretty random.

I just have a problem with a 6'7 LB. Dion is built similary to Manny Lawson, only he has an extra 2 inches on him. It's just hard being agile and good at changing directions with all that length. I don't know if there has ever been a successful 6'7" 4-3 LB.
