Bengals Animation on Cartoon Network

[Manimation]

Hi all! I rarely post, and would probably be considered a lurker, but fellow Bengal fans might appreciate and enjoy this!

I work as an animator on Mad: The Animated Series (an extension of the magazine), which aires on Cartoon Network. A few months back got a sketch to work on that had a Madden videogame scene in it, and I saw an opportunity.

I snatched that scene up and RAN to our character designer and requested the offense be in orange, and the defense be in a combo of black and yellow, showing her reference photos of the Bengals and Steelers getup. She couldn't do the uniform design exactly as they are so as not to violate any copyrights.

(if you're not into video-games, very little of the rest of the sketch will make sense)

It's a small part of the sketch, but I was excited to get some Bengals action in there. I'd have loved to fully animate each of those players too, but had less than a day to animate that particular shot.

We'll always beat the Steelers if I'm animating the sequence. Merry Christmas!

Couple questions I have about that show:
1. Is it fun?
2. Does it pay well?
3. I've seen it a couple of times, and 95% of that stuff would fly over a little kid's head. Why are the references so obscure for most kids under 13?

3. Probably so adults can watch too with their youngsters and be amused as well.

Similar to forest gump, not as kiddish yes, but same principle.

There's a lot of kids movies that do those type of shenanigans.

Those shows have much more subtle, and lesser jokes just for adults. This show is 95% that

That's where the sporadic animations come into play. Kids like that stuff. Keeps em interested.
