Like the Nuge mostly from the OSU days, but for some reason i just dont have the trust in him this year. Hope he is okay. There are some big time names out there for kickers so we should be okay. I think Rackers, Brown, Kaeding or Cundiff.

Someone mentioned that Swaze kid from a couple of preseasons ago.... i thought he was outstanding

I would much rather go with an unknown guy than a guy known to choke so I hope Cundiff is not signed.

The funny thing about Stitser and Pettrey is that neither was employed by an NFL team before or after their time with the Bengals. Not even a camp invite.

We need to sign Rackers and cut Binns. Bam, done.

Lol if we sign Cundiff we might as well kiss our playoff hopes goodbye. He chokes more than Shayne Graham.

Who was the kid from the preseason? He was really good only missed like 1 field goal. I know he isn't game on the line tested yet...but still he looked good in the off season.

Shayne was golden for us for a while. Every kicker comes to a slump in their career. We just have to get who's hot right NOW.

Especially with our playoff chances on the line

What kicker who is 'hot right NOW' is a free agent this late in the season?

Bengals singed Josh Brown today

Quote:
Josh Brown - K - Bengals

Bengals signed K Josh Brown.
Mike Nugent will be inactive Sunday due to a calf injury. Brown won the short-term gig by beating out Neil Rackers and Billy Cundiff at a Tuesday workout. The long-time Seahawks and Rams kicker went 21-of-28 for St. Louis last season.

Not as good as last year, certainly, but thing you have to like about Nugent is he has the range to give you a shot at the long ones (even though his kickoffs seemed to be lacking).

Just because a position doesn't involve impacts doesn't mean you can't hurt yourself easily. Think of how often power lifters or gymnasts get hurt. What a kicker does is an extreme muscular exertion to maximum range of motion for certain body parts.

Bringing in Brown makes Nugents injury sound very serious...

I wish Brown well then, because we will need our field goals against Dallas, Philly, Pittsburg and Baltimore to keep our hopes alive. ....He made 21 field goals for St Louis in 2011.....75 %.....81 points....10 year veteran with Seattle and St Louis.....He has been able to kick the long ones, over 60 yards once in preseason in the last year or two.
