He was a freak athlete and Marvin loves those guys (See: Manny Lawson, Taylor Mays)

Of all the safeties that have been at the combine over the last seven years Sands had the fifth fastest short shuttle time, the seventh fastest 60 yard shuttle, and the 14th longest broad jump. When you consider that he was about 3 inches taller and 20 lbs heavier than the average safety that is very impressive. I know athletic ability does not mean "great player" but you would think that a guy like that could at least stick in the NFL as a special teams player or linebacker ina nickle formation.

I never really loved or hated him. Just had high hopes that he would develop that athletic ability.
